📍Wanghu Local Cuisine Restaurant: A local favorite, this restaurant is located near Hongcun. Their stinky mandarin fish is a classic Hui-style dish, incredibly flavorful and aromatic. The braised pork with bamboo shoots is delicious and goes perfectly with rice. The crispy fried pancake with homemade chili sauce is also very fragrant – a must-try for carb lovers! 📍Huixiangyuan Restaurant (Tunxi Old Street Branch): An authentic Anhui-style restaurant in Tunxi Old Street. I was instantly hooked after eating there. The pan-fried hairy tofu is tender and creamy, and the sizzling mandarin fish soaked in sauce is incredibly addictive. The signature braised pork belly is perfectly balanced between lean and fatty meat, not greasy at all.
📍Huangjia Huifu Cuisine: A spacious and bright environment with a self-service kitchen where you can see the freshness of the ingredients. The stinky mandarin fish is a must-order, and the farm-raised pork belly is a childhood favorite that never gets old. The sizzling garlic shrimp is incredibly fragrant and satisfying.
📍Laojiefang Huizhou Cuisine: Located at the foot of Huangshan Mountain, a perfect spot after a hike. The roasted hairy tofu is golden brown, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The stir-fried bamboo shoots with pork slices are crisp, delicious, and refreshing. Just go for it!
📍Shili Huixiang Huizhou Restaurant: A well-established restaurant loved by locals. The casserole fish slices are tender and delicious, and the broth is perfect for soaking rice. The farm-raised chicken soup is nourishing and delicious—so sweet and flavorful that I drank two big bowls!
