Bali Off-the-Beaten-Path Experience | Stroll through the rainforest and share the sunrise with dolphins
Bali offers a wealth of travel experiences, and here are a few activities that are less crowded, offer great experiences, and feature beautiful and interesting scenery 🥰
🐬 Dolphin Chasing Lovina Dolphin Tour

Effort Index: 👍🏻👍🏻
Near Lovina Beach in the northern part of Bali, large groups of dolphins appear every morning, making the success rate of dolphin chasing here very high. With good weather, you can even see dolphins leaping out of the sea against the golden-orange dawn.
The journey from Ubud to Lovina takes about 2 hours, and you need to set out to sea before sunrise, so you have to leave the hotel at 3 a.m. If that seems too strenuous, you can choose to stay near the northern beaches the day before.
Going out to sea requires chartering a local spider boat, which costs 600k Indonesian Rupiah (~¥300) for about 2 hours at sea, and can be booked locally.
🌱 Rainforest Trekking Twin Lake Trekking
Recommended Index: 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Effort Index: 👍🏻👍🏻
The Bali Twin Lakes is a destination less visited by Chinese tourists. There is a well-preserved rainforest around the Twin Lakes, which is a formal natural scenic area. You can take a guided walk in the rainforest and row a boat on the lake to see temples.
The paths in the rainforest are not strenuous, with no steep slopes, but it's easy to get lost without a guide. The guide will also introduce various local vegetation along the way, or pick some interesting fruits for you to see, making it a fascinating immersive experience, perfect for families with children or tourists like us who are looking for relaxing, enjoyable, and unique local activities.
There are two routes, one around the Twin Lakes and one around a Single Lake. We chose the 2-3km route around the Single Lake, which includes strolling and boating, and takes about an hour and a half. The cost of the ticket and guide is 250k Indonesian Rupiah (~¥125) per person, with only English-speaking guides available.
🌳 Bayan Ancient Tree

Effort Index: 👍🏻
Many places in Bali are very spiritual and full of natural energy, and this huge ancient tree is especially so. The tree is 6 to 700 years old and is located in a small village not far from Ubud. It has recently become popular online, and when we visited, there was a continuous stream of visitors.
The most amazing part is the tree's complex root system, which is taller than a person, and you can climb up and down it, with a different appearance from every angle. Up close, its branches and roots somewhat resemble the human body, and the bark even has a satin-like sheen.
It's hard to imagine that such a vibrant tree has existed since the Ming Dynasty and still provides shelter and nourishment to birds, insects, and ants as a protector. When we visited, it was about to rain, and against the lead-gray sky, the ancient tree had a poetic rhythm and tranquility.
Rowena Beach is a famous place to go out to sea to enjoy dolphins. If we don’t choose to see dolphins, you can enjoy the sunset here. It’s also quite beautiful, and there are not many people on the beach.
Rowena is a good place for a holiday, pack a local crab boat on the beach in the morning. Go out to watch the sunrise, fly at sea with dolphins, and then snorkel to see small fish and corals. We only stayed for one night, it was really not enough. Many foreigners live for a week or even a month, super envious of them. Rowena's hotel is very cost-effective, and you can find a villa for a few hundred yuan. Go next time.
Watching the sunrise rising rapidly from the sea level, the sea of dolphins in groups constantly jumping out of the sea, hundreds of crab boats looking for these spirits together, the scene is very shocking. There are more fish snorkeling here than Lembongan Island, a very satisfying trip!
Hunting sunrise and dolphin tour. starting poin from Lovina beach. very recommended! you must come here.
Stunning sunrise and saw some dolphins after we got out into the ocean on our boat. A very eye opening experience. Definitely worth a visit.
Pasisir Lovina minangka salah sijiné papan wisata kang dumunung ing désa Kalibukbuk, kabupatèn Buleleng Bali Lor. Pasisir Lovina iku seje karo Pasisir Kuta utawa Pasisir Sanur kang trep kanggo dede. Ing kéné ora bisa kanggo dede jalaran akèh prau kang jejer ing pinggir pasisir.
Very good, very unforgettable experience. And this price is not said, it is recommended to charter a car in advance.
Rowana is far from Kuta. The main thing to come here is to go out to sea in the morning to find dolphins. It's a great experience. Here I share my travel strategy: Starting from the south, Xiangcave, Kawei Mountain, Ubu Royal Palace, Ubu stays one night a day, the next day Shengquan Temple, Beijing Damani Volcano, and at night in Roweina, I suggest that the hotel sunrise, the swimming pool is behind the sea, the pool water is still warm, good service attitude, good scenery, the third day out to see the dolphins behind the hotel. On the third morning, after seeing the dolphins, I walked south all the way through Baidu Library and Forest Park. All the way beautiful, all the way happy, happy and full.
