Maritime Museum

The Naval Museum is located in the Belém district of Lisbon and was built by King Louis in 1863-1963. The museum is part of the Mosteirodos Jerónimos monastery, which mainly tells about the maritime history of Portugal. It is one of the more popular museums in Portugal and one of the most visited museums in Portugal. Portugal's maritime history dates back to the 15th century, and this naval museum also houses historical paintings related to navigation, archaeological finds and a large number of models of Portuguese ships. The models of ships of different sizes are dizzying, and these models tell the splendid maritime history of Portugal and the profound culture contained in it. One of the more eye-catching exhibits in the museum is the 18th-century luxury yacht used by Maria I. This yacht was used for two centuries and was used by many Portuguese royal families.
