Shuixing Tower

The Mercury Building was originally built in the Ming Dynasty, and was rebuilt in the Kangxi years. It has a history of six or seven hundred years. During the Qing Dynasty, Changde was a heavy town in northwest Xiangxi. The geographical location was very important. The Lijiang River was the main way of transportation at that time, so in Changde, especially the Mercury Building. A lot of piers have been built. It can be seen from the ancient map of Changde City in Qingdaoguang. Nearly six or seven piers are around the Mercury Building. The business is very prosperous and has continued until the 1960s and 1970s!

The Mercury Building was originally built in the Ming Dynasty, and was rebuilt during the later Kangxi years. During the Anti-Japanese War, it was destroyed by the Japanese army. After liberation, a wooden Mercury Building was built and demolished when the city was expanded.
