The road is closed, apparently under repair. None of the locals we spoke with knew about the repair, when it began or estimated completion. We drove 15 miles to ride bikes and were disappointed to fin...

The 6-mile drive to the tunnel is pretty and the road is good. There are several hiking trails near the tunnel. We walked the Noland Creek Trail and the Tunnel Bypass Trail.
