Baiyun Cave is located in the northwest corner of the mountain, one of the 36 caves in Xiqiao Mountain, known as the concourse of Xiqiao Mountain Scenic Area. Doctors, literati and inkke have left a wealth of cultural relics and monuments in Baiyun Cave, such as Sanhu Academy, Kuiguang Building, Yunquan Xianguan, Baiyun Ancient Temple and other Ming and Qing buildings and cliff stone carvings, of which "Xiyu Yun Waterfall" in the Qing Dynasty has been listed as "one of the eight scenery of Yangcheng". MoreBaiyun Cave is located at the northwest foot of the mountain and is the epitome of Xiqiao Mountain's scenery. Baiyun Cave is a blessed place for Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. It is divided into three caves and 24 scenes. The main attractions include Kuiguang Tower, Feiliu Qianchi, Sanhu Academy, Zizu Temple, Baiyun Ancient Temple, Yunquan Fairy House, Lianlizhi Banyan Tree, Four-Faced Buddha, Linggan Stone, Yangchen Terrace, etc. Among them, the "Xiqiao Cloud Waterfall" was listed as one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Guangzhou" as early as the Qing Dynasty.
Located at the entrance of Baiyun Cave Attraction are two cultural holy places, the Zizu Temple and Kuiguang Tower. The Zizu Temple is dedicated to Cangjie, the creator of Chinese characters, and the Kuiguang Tower is dedicated to Kuixing God, one of the twenty-eight constellations in ancient Chinese literature and the champion of literature.
During the Dingyou year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty, when the cultural and artistic atmosphere in Xiqiao was in a slump and it was difficult for students to pass the imperial examinations, 28 wealthy families in Jian Village, Xiqiao, donated money to build the Kuiguang Building and the Zizu Temple in Baiyun Cave in order to revive the cultural atmosphere. After the two buildings were built, students would come here to worship the two literary stars whenever they went to Beijing to take the imperial examinations and children would come here to attend school enlightenment, and hold the examination and enlightenment ceremonies.
Yunquanxian Pavilion is built according to the mountain terrain. It is a two-story building with a hip roof. It mainly includes the front hall, bell and drum platform, ancestral hall, ink house, imperial hall and side rooms of the back hall. There are two stone huabiao and a pair of stone lions in front of the hall. The walls on both sides are decorated with reliefs of lions, phoenixes, fish, and six horses and murals of birds paying homage to the phoenix. The bell and drum platform are on the left and right of the hall door. The front hall has a Voucher corridor, side rooms, a middle door, and a release pond at the back. The back hall is the Zanhua Palace, which enshrines Lü Dongbin. The exquisite brick carvings, statues of double dragons grabbing pearls, and murals of birds paying homage to the phoenix from the Qing Dynasty are all key cultural relics in the museum. They witness the glory of Foshan ceramics. Foshan, as one of the main production areas of brick carvings in Guangdong, is not common in the Qing Dynasty, as Yunquanxian Pavilion.
Sanhu Academy was built in the 54th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty. It was named because it is located between Yingchao Lake, Jianhu Lake and Huilong Lake. The plaque of "Sanhu Academy" can be seen from afar. It was written by the national hero Lin Zexu. There is a bronze statue of Kang Youwei on the left side of the academy. On the stone wall behind the statue are several red characters "Reform Movement of 1898". The current academy was rebuilt in 1987. It is not large in area, with two entrances, blue bricks and white tiles, and an antique style. The lush pines and cypresses in the courtyard and the carved railings and jade bricks add a touch of solemnity to the academy.
Baiyun Ancient Temple is located on the left side of the entrance of Baiyun Cave in Xiqiao Mountain. It is a three-story building built against the mountain. It is a brick and wood structure. It is majestic and majestic. The incense smoke is ethereal. The sutras are chanted day and night, and the candlelight is dancing. It is a quiet place for monks. The temple was first built in the second year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty (1507) and was renamed Baiyun Ancient Temple in the second year of Guangxu (1876). There is a stone couplet in front of the temple: "The winding water flows long, and the cranes cross the old caves to find the ancient three caves. The white clouds are still there and live in the same mountain with plums." It was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Nanhai in the last century.
Baiyundong Scenic Area, 24 scenes in one, ancient buildings scattered, Baiyun ancient cave cliffs are natural.
Tingyin Lake is just under the Baiyundong Scenic Area of Xiqiao Mountain. The area of the lake area has more than doubled. The newly built lakeside tourist town has also begun trial operation. Unfortunately, the epidemic situation in 2020 has been forced to be postponed. Although the scenery of Xiqiao Mountain has always felt very ordinary, it is quite pleasant to visit the park for free on the lake under the mountain.
Baiyun Cave is an important part of Xiqiao Mountain Scenic Area, and I personally think it is the most beautiful part. In fact, there is no need to buy tickets separately, just check the tickets when you take the ropeway up the mountain, but if you are walking up the mountain, there is no ticket verification link. Personally recommend walking down the mountain and then the cableway back to the mountain, because you can walk to the waterfall pavilion halfway up the mountain, and you can see the panoramic view of Baiyun Cave on the cableway. In addition to many humanistic landscapes in the scenic area (of course, the most important is Yunquan Xianguan), there are also quite excellent waterfalls, such as flying thousands of feet, but the mountain road is slippery and the view is careful.
This place is really good, definitely worth a visit, and the photos are also very beautiful!
Baiyun Cave is the most cultural scenic spot on Xiqiao Mountain, and is a place where three Confucian, Buddhist and Tao families meet. Baiyun Cave is located at the foot of Xiqiao Mountain. There is a cableway to and from Tianhu. We walked down the trail from Tianhu to the scenic spot. There are Taojia Yunquan Xianguan, Confucian Three Lakes Academy, Buddha's Baiyun Ancient Temple, and Zizu Temple, as well as Kuiguang Building, Erawan Buddha, White Pagoda, The small scenery such as the front line of the sky is simply a hole everywhere, which is fascinating.
Both are very good attractions, although a little distance, it is highly recommended to go
Baiyundong Scenic Area, Xiqiao Mountain Scenic Area, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. Xiqiao Mountain is one of the four famous mountains in Guangdong Province, located in the southwest of Nanhai District, Foshan City. Xiqiao Mountain has beautiful natural scenery. The 72 peaks on the mountain are wonderful, and the 42 caves are quiet. There are lakes, waterfalls, springs, oysters, rocks, walls, pools, and platforms. The mountains are deep moss and thick, lush, and the cave walls are cracked. Xiqiao Mountain is very large and the mountain is not high, but the tour is very tired. Baiyundong Scenic Area, Baiyundong is located in the northwest of the mountain, I did not see the hole, in fact, this is a general name.
