The weather on the beautiful Yushan Island really lives up to its reputation as one of China's most beautiful islands
Three-Day Two-Night Yushan Island Travel Guide (Tourism Edition)
Here comes the travel guide for fun! Although it's called three days and two nights, it's actually two full days. We took the 2 p.m. ferry to the island on the first day and the 3 p.m. ferry off the island on the third day.
Day One:
After arriving on the island by the 2 p.m. ferry, the owner of the homestay picked us up. I booked the Old Li's Homestay on Yushan Island, located in Luzhu Village, which is about 2 kilometers south of the pier on the map.
Since I didn't sleep well the night before and it was too sunny in the afternoon, we rested in the room until five before heading out. Then we saw the stunning sunset from a viewing platform near the homestay; you can also watch it right outside the homestay. Just for this sunset, I felt the homestay was really worth it, haha.
Day Two:
We always enjoy a slow-paced style of travel, so we didn't head out until 9:30 the next morning to wait for the island's bus to the tourist center, where we bought tickets for the scenic shuttle to Tianhu Scenic Area. The scenic shuttle operates on a rolling basis, departing when full. It takes about ten minutes from the tourist center to the interior of the scenic area.
Getting off the scenic shuttle, you can see the Great Tianhu, and the standard route is to walk to the right towards Tianhu Meadow, Little Tianhu, and other attractions. However, since Great Tianhu is actually a reservoir, we took the left path. Although there are no specific attractions, the scenery is beautiful, and you can take a trail down to the lakeside of Great Tianhu for photos, then circle up to Little Tianhu, the meadow, and other spots. There's also a Tianhu Temple in the scenic area, not very old (built in 1933). It was closed when we visited, so I don't know what it looks like inside. Because the weather was nice and the scenery was too beautiful, we spent over three hours taking photos and enjoying the views before heading down.
On the way down the mountain, we saw a waterfall and checked the online map of the scenic area, which revealed it to be the Bailian Waterfall. So we asked some islanders and found it was on the way to Moon Bay, not far from the pier. After about a ten-minute walk, we saw a large rock with 'Jinsha Feipu' written on it. Going further in, past a homestay styled like a mountain villa, we continued deeper and then saw the waterfall after a bit of a hike on a rough path. The scenery was quite nice.
Day Three:
We rented an electric scooter to circle the island, first stopping at the Twelve Constellations Homestay in Yuniu Village, which was actually very pretty with its flowers and plants, but unfortunately, it was unfinished and abandoned. Then we passed by Moon Bay, took a quick look without going down, and rode to Dongjiao Village. We viewed Yuanyang Island from afar on the glass skywalk and finally passed by Zaoao Village, heading straight to Anman Island Homestay for more photos. Riding and stopping along the way, we reached Anman Island Homestay around one o'clock. Since we had to catch the 3 p.m. ferry back to Fuding city, we rode non-stop for over forty minutes back to the pier.
In conclusion:
The beautiful Yushan Island with good weather truly deserves its title as one of China's most beautiful islands, and the scenery is very much worth it. If you have time, I still recommend staying on the island for a night to enjoy the sunset and evening glow, feel the sea breeze, and leisurely take photos and admire the beautiful views around Tianhu and the island's scenic route.
I will definitely come back in the future!
This attraction is generally not bad, the scenery is beautiful and charming, the lake, sea, tea garden, mountains, temples are all eye-catching 👀, the attraction here is empty and alive, there are horses, sheep 🐑 on the grass on the hillside, and the sound of wild ducks can be heard in the lake. The only downside is that There is only one boat on this island every day, 9:30 am-14:00 pm, such a big island can only visit one attraction, there are many very beautiful natural scenery on the island, but unfortunately time is too late, if you live on the island and rent a small battery car should be able to view the panoramic view of Lushan Island. I personally think that it is a bit cost-effective to see only one attraction for 176 yuan.
At first I saw the reservoir and was ready to praise people. Later, I went up again. I suddenly felt happy. By the way, I climbed a mountain, it was really beautiful, and I felt that the ticket was worth 70 yuan. It was a very good experience, Haixianshan.
A place worth visiting... It is very convenient to take a boat... There is a parking lot near the pier... The sea view of Lushan Island is very good... It will not be tired to play... It is no problem to bring the elderly... It is recommended to stay on the island for one night... You can also watch the sunset...
Nice scenery, worth recommending
Take the boat island, the May Day holiday, the boat is full. Scenic management, it is estimated that the experience is not enough, go to the pier early in the morning, so there are not many people, the car is not blocked. In the afternoon, the traffic jam was 2 hours before leaving the pier, I hope it needs to be improved. Although the back mountain charter tour is not expensive, it looks average. The official scenic spot, the island meadow, is a point of view.
