　When I went straight down the approach to Kikuchi Shrine, I followed the streets with many old buildings on both sides. This street is Gosho-dori. Located in the northern part of Kumamoto Prefecture, Kikuchi City is a town known for the Kikuchi clan, which has prospered for about 450 years since the Heian period. There was a retro building called "Waifu Ichibankan" on the street. In the building, there was a "Machikado Museum", where materials related to the history of Kikuchi and the Kikuchi clan were exhibited. Only old buildings are lined up ...

　Gosho-dori is the street that extends south from near the Kikuchi Tourist Products Center, which is located in the center of Kikuchi City. There were some buildings from the early Showa period, such as "Takagi Clinic" and "Former Matsukura Family Residence Main Building", but the entire cityscape is not a historic space. In October when we visited, the festival was held and it was lively.

After visiting Kikuchi Shrine, I took a walk in the retro cityscape that runs west from the first torii gate. In addition to the old buildings being preserved, the newly built shops and houses were unified with black tiles and plaster walls, making it a calm landscape. It is wonderful that we are working on landscape formation throughout the town, such as the high school is Namako . There was also a mukunoki "Shogun Tree", which is said to be 650 years old.

The other day, I invited my family to experience it for the first time. About 700m extending almost directly west of Ichinotorii in front of Kikuchi Shrine. The historic sites (Shogun tree, former Takagi clinic, Waifu kobankan, statue of motoemon Takagi, monument of Aiko tokutomi's birth) on the sightseeing map are seen. I felt the atmosphere that was similar to the cityscape of Fukushima, Yame City and Yoshii, Ukiba-gun. The family's evaluation was "The cityscape is retro! You should go if you come to Kikuchi!"

It was a street I didn't ask much, but when I went there, there were many highlights such as Shogun Ki, Matsushiko Noba, Kamimachi Kodai Jingu, and Waifu Ichibankan. This street is characterized by a narrow frontage and a wide (long) depth. You can see it well by looking at the vacant lot. Like a famous tourist destination, the streets are not all unified buildings and colors, and it's a little unsatisfactory, but I could imagine that I was working hard locally, such as explanation boards and roads.
