临汾烈士陵园，位于临汾市城南尧庙宫北面，建于1958年，占地万平方米，有塔、堂、馆、亭、墓、廊等大型纪念建筑物18座。临汾烈士陵园是根据徐向前元帅的提议为纪念临汾攻坚战中英勇牺牲的革命先烈而修建的。是省政府、国家民政部确定的重点爱国主义、国防教育基地。2011年被国务院列为重点国家级烈士纪念建筑物保护单位。朱德元帅亲笔题词“革命烈士永垂不朽”。

1948年5月17日，徐向前元帅任总指挥指挥了临汾战役。有不少革命先烈在这次战疫中牺牲了参观烈士陵园，凭吊烈士的丰功伟绩，是为了教育后人更好的建设我们的家园。
