World's End is one of the more famous tourist attractions in Horton Plains National Park. The end of the world is an 880-meter-deep cliff, known as "World's End", and the scenery is spectacular. From a distance, the morning light combined with the fog is breathtaking, and in the early mornings in fine weather, you can look out to the southern seashore. There are charming scenery on the way to the end of the world, which makes people shocked and forget the fatigue of the journey. Introduction to Houghton Hiking Route The Houghton Hiking is a circular route with no turning back. The total length is about 9.5 kilometers. The clearer season is from January to March each year, while the rainy season from April to September is not suitable for hiking. In addition to being rainy and cold, Horton Plains are often surrounded by heavy fog. The clockwise counter-clockwise route is first to the end of the small world, then to the end of the world, and then to Baker Falls. Counterclockwise is the opposite. After entering the scenic spot, go straight and encounter a fork in the road. There is a large green stone at the intersection to guide the way, turn right is counterclockwise, and turn left is clockwise. The recommended walking method is not recommended for anti-clockwise walking, the better walking method should be clockwise. The reason is that the clockwise road is much closer to the end of the world than counterclockwise, and will go through the end of the small world first, and then to the end of the big world. The road on the left has woods on both sides, and the road on the right has plain scenery on both sides. In the morning, when the sky is not too bright, walk from the left hand and reach the end of the world first, and enjoy the view. Afterwards, take the road on the right hand side in a hurry, you can take pictures slowly and enjoy the scenery. If you go counterclockwise, it will take a lot of time to take pictures along the way. If you go to the end of the world, you will be in a hurry, which will not only delay enjoying the scenery along the road, but also delay seeing the scenery at the end of the world.
In a short time of just ten seconds, the clouds filled the valley. Not to mention the scenery between the valleys, even the opposite mountain disappeared into the clouds. Probably because of the scenery of this moment, let us so long for the end of the world.
Departed at five o'clock in the morning and went to Horton Plain Park. Although it took time along the way, it was very worthwhile to see the sunrise and the beautiful scenery along the way. It was super beautiful.
Domestically flew to Sri Lanka, came to Nuwaraelie, got up at 4:30 in the morning, set off at 5 o'clock, the temperature was 12 degrees, the journey was about an hour, the walk was ten kilometers, it took more than three hours, to see the end of the world, and returned to the hotel at 12 o'clock. The scenery, mountains, rivers, and trees in the distance are all in the distance. There was no fog when I went, and the scenery under the mountain was very good.
Before departure, I was looking forward to Horton hiking, because the rainy season of Lanca was worried about the impact of the rain, and the hotel packed breakfast at 5 o'clock and the sky was gradually red. I was lucky to watch the sunrise all the way. The mountain road was almost motion sickness. I arrived at the entrance of the scenic spot at 6 o'clock. I used breakfast. The scenic spot check package is very strict, to avoid endangering wildlife, food and beverages packaged with plastic tin paper are prohibited to bring into the scenic spot, and the label of mineral water is also removed by the staff one by one. The Horton Plain is the highest plateau in Sri Lanka and a paradise for natural ecological lovers. The only national park in Langka that can be hiked is a rugged and slippery path that no one has built after the rain the night before. The Horton Plain is vegetation between grassland and mountain forests. Encountered a black deer and a langka deer, a purple-faced langur, a crow and an unknown bird (forbidding feeding), came to the end of the world suddenly suddenly bright, remember to catch the photo before 8:30, otherwise the clouds and mist can not see the end of the cliff...
When planning the itinerary, I have been hesitant to come to Horton, worried that my parents can't stick to the9.5 kilometers of hikes in such a hot climate. But I really don't want to miss it, so I told my parents in advance a few months ago to start exercising. The old couple was full of confidence, because they usually had the habit of walking, and they specially prepared for more than a month before coming, so they walked down very smoothly. About 5 am to start from the hotel, because you have to go to the end of the world before 10 o'clock, otherwise the fog will be white and you will not see anything. After crossing the mountain, the 800-meter-high cliff stopped. At the end of the world, it happened to be halfway through the trip. I gave my parents 100 likes.
How to say it, it should be mainly hiking here, about 2000 meters above sea level, many times it is foggy weather, water mist, no rain is also wet. The whole trail is about 10 kilometers down. If the weather is good at the end of the world, I heard that I can see the east coast of Sri Lanka, and there are 2 small waterfalls inside. The animal has a purple-faced langur that is more endangered, there are many birds, and deer.
When you look at the map of Sri Lanka, you will find a slab of plain in the south-central part of the country with the words "Horton Plain and End of the World" on it. At the end of the world, there are nearly a kilometer of cliffs, standing high and looking far away, combining the morning light and fog scenery is shocking, you can also see the southern coast and the Indian Ocean in the distance.
At the end of the world is a attraction in Horton Plain. This time I walked 10 kilometers and walked for 3 and a half hours, which was a great experience. The weather was still helping. There was no fog at the end of the world. I saw the mountains stacked under the cliffs. It was still very good.
