Zhoushan Maqi Tourism Area is characterized by beautiful and simple mountain countryside and ancient and deep historical and cultural connotations. It integrates summer leisure, farmhouse, island folk customs and ancient martyr culture. It is located in Maqi Town, Zhoushan Dinghai District, Zhejiang. Ma Yu is known as the "first village of the island" and has a history of development for about 6,000 years. It is one of the most profound townships in Zhoushan and even Zhejiang Province. Since the 1970s, more than 500 cultural relics from the Neolithic era to the Tang, Song, Ming and Qing dynasties have been unearthed on the Maqi ancient cultural sites, and 29 ancient mounds have been excavated, with a total area of 140,000 square meters, of which 12 belong to the Neolithic period and 8 belong to the Shang and Zhou periods. The nine unexplored places, basically with the characteristics of Liangzhu and Hemudu culture, were once the center of the activities of the ancestors in the Neolithic period, creating a prehistoric culture that combines fishing and hunting and farming. Ma Yiyi is surrounded by mountains and sea, stretching quietly in a flat river, like stretching a beautiful picture.
