Start your day at Berat Castle (PX42+4Q2), towering above the city. Wander its winding paths, explore little churches and hidden courtyards, and soak up sweeping views over the river and valley. Must-do: Climb to the castle ramparts for that iconic “thousand windows” shot—the layered white houses with black roofs nestled against the mountain, especially dreamy on a cloudy day after rain! Next, head down to the Gorica Bridge, spanning the Osum River. The bridge is best photographed from the riverside with the castle and old town as a backdrop. Strolling along the riverbanks, notice the fusion of Western and Ottoman architecture—perfect for close-up building shots!
