Date Journey
Day 1 Yuelu Mountain->Orange Island->Du Fu Jiangge
Day 2 Hunan Museum->Wuyi Square->Taiping Old Street

Yuelu Mountain on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River is a famous tourist attraction in Changsha. There are many historical sites here, including the famous Yuelu Academy, Aiwan Pavilion, and many tombs of revolutionary martyrs. The mountains are lush with trees, including many ancient trees. Local citizens like to come here to climb the mountains and take a walk. Every late autumn, this is also a good place to enjoy the red leaves.

Opening hours: 06:00-22:00

evaluate:

Although there weren't enough people at first, we were still assigned a tour guide, which allowed my husband and I to learn about the background of Yuelu Mountain, which I can still remember. This service is quite satisfactory. And the tour guide will help us take beautiful photos.

Orange Island is an impact sandbar in the Xiangjiang River. It has always been a famous scenic spot in Changsha and is even more famous for Mao Zedong's famous quote. Orange Island has beautiful scenery and dense trees. There is a large citrus cultural garden and a huge statue of Mao Zedong. There are also some cultural exhibition halls and you can swim in the summer. During major festivals, the fireworks display here is also a visual feast.

Address: No. 2, Juzizhoutou, Yuelu District, Changsha City, Hunan Province

Transportation: Take Metro Line 2 and get off at Juzizhou Station.

Opening hours: 07:00-22:00

evaluate:

You need to buy a package of more than 100 yuan to get a seat on the top deck. The boat ticket is not cheap already, and it is too bad. The scenery is quite good. You can see the statue of Chairman Mao and the scenery on both sides of the Xiangjiang River. Overall it's OK.

Du Fu Jiangge is located in Xihu Bridge, Hedongcheng District, Changsha, Hunan, at the junction of the middle section of Xiangjiang Road and Xihu Road. This is a riverside building, an antique-style building built to commemorate the great Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu. It consists of the main pavilion, long,g corridor, stele pavilion, tea room and other buildings. Because it is close to the Xiangjiang River, it is a great place to watch the Orange Island fireworks show during important festivals. It is very pleasant to come here to climb up and overlook the two sides of the Xiangjiang River, drink tea and feel the river breeze.

Address: No. 108, Xiangjiang Middle Road, Tianxin District, Changsha

Opening hours: 09:00-22:00

evaluate:

To be honest, there isn't much there when I took the kids there, but it's nice to watch the night view on the riverside. There are some things about Du Fu's life upstairs. There are no scenic spots or cultural relics. It's just a building. Overall, it's ok!

Hunan Provincial Museum has a rich collection of cultural relics, especially the Mawangdui Han Tomb relics, which are very distinctive. The Mawangdui Han Tomb exhibit is the basic exhibit of the Hunan Provincial Museum. It displays thin gauze single clothes, intact printed cotton robes, various fine and beautiful embroideries, brightly colored lacquerware, and exquisite and delicate colored silk paintings.

The communication with Director Xie was smooth, and the preparations were in place and the instructions were clear. The on-site tour guide was thoughtful and meticulous. The explanations were lively and interesting, and the recommended viewing locations for each item were accurate and effective, making the trip worthwhile. Satisfied 👍

Wuyi Square is not only the commercial heart of Changsha, but also a symbol of the city's vitality. Every time I come here, I can feel the unparalleled lively atmosphere. Whether you are shopping or enjoying delicious food, this is the best choice. The wonderful performances and various activities are unforgettable, making it a great place for entertainment and leisure. Whether local citizens or tourists from afar, they can all find their own happiness here. Wuyi Square is the pride of Changsha and a beautiful memory in the hearts of every visitor.

Taiping Street is located in the southern part of Changsha’s old city. It is an old street suitable for strolling and eating. You can taste authentic Changsha stinky tofu, sugar-coated baba and other local snacks. Taiping Street is also a very cultural street, with historical sites such as Jia Yi's former residence, Changhuai Well, the West Archway of Mingji Prince's Palace, and some old Changsha houses with green tiles and white walls.

Address: 50 meters southwest of the intersection of Wuyi Avenue and Taiping Street, Tianxin District, Changsha

Opening hours: 24 hours a day, all year round

evaluate:

Taiping Old Street is located in Tianxin District, Changsha, and is a microcosm of Changsha’s history and culture. This place has been a prosperous place since the Western Han Dynasty. The herringbone-shaped structure is well preserved, and there are many ancient buildings. Historical relics such as Jia Yi's former residence tell stories of thousands of years ago. The old street has white walls and black tiles, full of ancient charm. It is also lined with food shops and cultural and creative stores and is rich in intangible cultural heritage. The Taipingli Cultural and Creative Market is a highlight of the integration of the old and the new. The night is full of bright lights, bustling crowds and the atmosphere is full of fireworks. Here, you can feel the rich history and experience fashion trends. It is a check-in spot not to be missed when you come to Changsha.
