According to legend, wealthy businessmen in ancient Chaozhou flocked to build houses here because a top scholar emerged in the alley, and the style was very elegant. Jiadi Lane condenses the essence of the ancient dwellings in Chaozhou City and is a treasure trove for studying Chaozhou's ancient architectural art and folk customs.

Jiadi Lane is a famous historical street in the ancient city of Chaozhou. It is located in the south-central part of the ancient city and was the place where officials, merchants and prominent families of ancient Chaozhou city lived. "You, Zao, Yi, Xing, Jia" summarizes the essence of the ancient dwellings in Chaozhou City in one sentence. These streets and lanes are located in the central and southern parts of the ancient city, lined up in parallel, and still retain the street and lane layout of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and a large number of ancient dwellings. Jiadi Lane is the essence of the essence, as the name suggests, which can be seen from the name of the lane "Jiadi". Jiadi Lane, which is less than 200 meters long, contains dozens of large and small Ming and Qing Dynasty houses. Walking through it, you can feel the flow of time, touch the breath of ancient Chaozhou people's lives, and savour the echo of history. Therefore, these streets and lanes have become a treasure house for studying ancient Chaozhou society, architectural art and folk customs.

Kaiyuan Temple is named after the consecutive number "Kaiyuan" during the Kaiyuan Prosperity period of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty. When the temple was first built, Kaiyuan Temple had a very high status in the local area. After continuous renovations during the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, the Kaiyuan Temple today still retains the main layout of the Tang Dynasty and integrates the architectural art of various dynasties. The glazed tiles, colourful roofs and red walls are spectacular. Walking through it, you can smell the smoke of incense and see an endless stream of believers coming to worship Buddha and pray for blessings.

Kaiyuan Temple is located in Quanzhou, Fujian. It was first built in the Tang Dynasty and is a famous ancient temple in southern Fujian. The east and west towers in the temple are masterpieces of Song Dynasty stone structures, more than 40 meters high and exquisitely carved. The Main Hall retains the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty, and the stone carvings on the Sumeru pedestal on the platform in front of the hall are particularly precious. The temple is full of towering ancient trees and a quiet environment, where you can feel the peaceful atmosphere of a thousand-year-old temple. The tour lasts about 1-2 hours and is free.

Prince Consort Xu's Mansion is located at No. 4, Dongfucheng, Putao Lane, Zhongshan Road, Chaozhou City. It was first built during the Zhiping period of Emperor Yingzong of Song Dynasty. It is a rare Song Dynasty mansion building in China and has now been turned into a folk museum. The main building has three entrances and five rooms. The walls are made of rammed earth and blue brick strips. Behind the upper hall is a courtyard that runs across the entire house. It has a rigorous structure and is simple and elegant.

Guangji Tower is located in Chaozhou, Guangdong. It was first built in the third year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty. Together with the Bamboo and Wood Gate Tower and the Shangshui Gate Tower, it is known as the Seven Towers of Chaozhou City. The current Guangji Tower was rebuilt by dismantling the structure based on the Qing Dynasty map of Chaozhou ancient city and the Ming Dynasty architectural style left over from Chaozhou. It has very profound artistic and historical value and is a national key cultural relic protection unit.

Opposite the ticket gate of Guangji Bridge, there is a very classic internet celebrity check-in spot with the word Chaozhou on it. It is very photogenic to take photos here. There is a long love flower path in front of it with clusters of flowers. Here you can enjoy the panoramic view of Guangji Bridge and take a lot of photos.

The Thai Buddha Temple is located at the foot of the mountain opposite Huiru Park on Dongshan Road, Xiangqiao District, Chaozhou City. Built in the famous city of Chaozhou, this building, which imitates Thailand's Marble Stone Temple, is very Thai in style. The words "Kaiyuan Temple Thai Buddha Hall" are written on its door lintel, and the upturned corners of the column capitals represent the auspiciousness of dragons and phoenixes. The decoration of the gables and the doors and windows concentrate on ancient Thai modelling art, reflecting the exquisite exotic atmosphere.

Without leaving the country, you can encounter Thai customs in Chaozhou. When I stepped into the Thai Buddhist Hall of Kaiyuan Temple, it was like being swept into Thailand by a magical wind. This temple is a unique Thai flower that bloomed on Chaozhou land, carrying the profound friendship of cultural exchanges between China and Thailand. Looking up, you can see the Thai-style hall standing tall, with a double-eaved, multi-faceted roof covered with fish-scale tiles that sparkle in the sunlight. The yellow patterns on the eaves and the dragon and phoenix corners on the capitals are so exquisite that you can't take your eyes off them. Every detail is authentic, a vivid display of Thai architectural art, which makes people marvel at the exquisite craftsmanship of the craftsmen. As you enter the hall, the 3-meter-tall, 1.5-ton bronze statue of Sakyamuni Buddha looks solemn and kind. When you glance at it, the restlessness in your heart is instantly soothed. The believers put their hands together, prayed devoutly, and looked focused, which made me see the power of faith. On the surrounding walls, the murals depicting Sakyamuni Buddha's deeds are brightly coloured with delicate brushstrokes, as if they are whispering the ancient Buddhist fate, taking me through thousands of years to witness the Buddha's life. The four-faced Buddha on the east side is unique, with four heads and eight hands, representing kindness, compassion, joy and giving, respectively, and carrying people's beautiful expectations for life. Visitors burned incense in an orderly manner and worshipped devoutly in a clockwise direction. The scene was solemn and warm. Walking along the secluded path, you will see lotus flowers blooming in the pond and lush bodhi trees casting a cool shade. The Wangjiang Tower at the end is an excellent place to overlook the Han River. The river breeze blows on your face, bringing a sense of comfort. The ancient city of Chaozhou in the distance and the scenery of the Han River complement each other, outlining a beautiful landscape painting. Here, I not only appreciated the unique charm of Thai Buddhist culture but also felt the inclusiveness and openness of the city of Chaozhou. Every brick and stone, every Buddha statue, tells the story of cultural integration across national boundaries. If you also want to have an exotic cultural experience without leaving the country, the Taifo Hall of Kaiyuan Temple will not disappoint you.

Paifang Street is located in the old city of Chaozhou. There are many arcade buildings preserved along the street. There are also many archways on the street, telling the great achievements of many Chaozhou heroes in history. There is a story behind each archway, which is intriguing. Of course, the numerous Chaozhou delicacies on the street are not to be missed. Chaozhou hand-made beef balls, taro cakes, duck eye twists, etc. are all very distinctive. The "Three Treasures of Chaozhou" - Buddha's Hand Laoxianghuang, yellow-skinned fermented black beans and old medicinal oranges can be said to be excellent choices for souvenirs.

It is only 3 minutes away from Chaozhou Paifang Street, Guangji Bridge and other scenic spots. It has a good location in the scenic area, moderate cost performance, clean and bright room, clean and comfortable sheets, strong bathroom water flow, comfortable sleep, balcony, and night view! Great check-in! The cat next door is chubby and very interesting! The young boss has a warm and thoughtful service attitude. He answered our questions immediately. He was able to find good places for you to visit when asking about food and attractions. I am especially grateful for the boss's care and sharing! It is a homestay worth staying in👍👍

Han Wengu Temple was built to commemorate Han Yu, a writer and thinker in the Tang Dynasty. It was first built in the second year of the Xianping period of the Song Dynasty (999 AD) and is the Han Wenggong Temple with the oldest history in my country. The Han Wenggong Temple has a beautiful environment. Inside the temple are records of the history of the Han Temple, Han Yu's achievements in tidal control, and poems praising the Han Temple. In addition, you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of Chaozhou by climbing up the Shilang Pavilion.

Chaozhou Guangji Bridge lies quietly on the clear water. The pavilions and towers are arranged in an orderly manner, with flying eaves and pointed corners, full of ancient charm. The clouds were light and the water was like a mirror, reflecting the elegant figure of the bridge. It is a poem of time, carrying the weight of history, quietly telling the story of past prosperity, and making people fascinated and intoxicated by this unique oriental romance.

Guangji Bridge, also known as Xiangzi Bridge, was first built in the Song Dynasty in 1171 AD. It has a long history and is one of the four major ancient bridges in my country. The Guangji Bridge is located above the Han River and has a very unique design. There are stone piers on both sides, as well as exquisite pavilions and towers. In the middle are 18 ancient floating bridges connected. Walking on the floating bridges is a very magical feeling. Every evening, to allow cargo ships to pass, the floating bridge will be retracted, and you can watch the scene of "crossing the river and dismantling the bridge". The night view and light show here are also very beautiful.

The Guangji Bridge is located on Huancheng East Road, Xiangqiao District, Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province. It spans the Han River. It is one of the four ancient bridges in China and the world's earliest opening and closing bridge. Guangji Bridge was first built in the seventh year of Gandao in the Southern Song Dynasty (1171). It was originally a floating bridge connected by eighty-six huge ships and was named "Kangji Bridge".

Longhu Ancient Village was first built during the Southern Song Dynasty and has a history of more than 1,000 years. It still preserves hundreds of ancient buildings. Walking through it, you can see the epitome of the thousand-year-old Chaozhou Prefecture everywhere. The ancient village is mainly composed of three streets and six alleys. The indigenous clans here have many surnames, and there are many Jinshi and Juren who came from the imperial examinations in Longhu Village. Walking on the thick stone road, there are countless ancestral halls and mansions on both sides of the houses, and each household has its own story.

Address: Longhu Town, Chaoan County, Chaozhou City

Opening hours: 24 hours a day, all year round

evaluate:

The Longhu Ancient Village attraction may be a bit remote from the city, and there is no business district nearby, so the best thing is to drive from the city after dinner and stay in a nearby inn for one night, then go to the ancient village for a stroll the next morning and have a quick breakfast.
