Baoguo Temple, not far from the gate of Mount Emei, was first built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and is the starting point for most tourists to visit the Emei Mountain Scenic Area. The plaque "Baoguo Temple" on the temple gate was written by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. This is also the center of Buddhist activities in the mountains. The main halls include the Maitreya Hall, the Great Hall, the Seven Buddha Hall and the Samantabhadra Hall. Today, it is the headquarters of the Emeishan Buddhist Association, and many large-scale religious ceremonies are held here.

Fuhu Temple was first built in the Tang Dynasty and rebuilt during the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty. During the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, Monk Guanzhi led his disciples to rebuild the temple, which was named "Huxi Zen Forest", also known as Fuhu Temple. There are two theories about how the Fuhu Temple got its name: one is that a tiger once injured someone in the mountains near the temple, so the monks built a "Zunsheng Pagoda" to suppress the tiger and renamed the temple. Another theory is that the temple was named after the mountain behind it, which resembles a crouching tiger.

This is usually the second temple you will encounter when hiking Mount Emei. I personally think it is a more comfortable temple in the low mountain area of the scenic area. It is very refreshing. The expressions of the Arhats in the Arhat Hall are quite dramatic, representing all kinds of beings. It is said that everyone can find an Arhat like themselves in the Arhat Hall. I tried to find myself and discovered others. Haha, this is the real first stop of this Emei Heart Journey.

The Emeishan Museum is at the foot of the mountain, not far from Baoguo Temple. The museum exhibits many paleontological specimens unearthed locally, including a large dinosaur specimen and dinosaur eggs, and the history of the geological and geomorphological evolution of Mount Emei is also displayed here.

The kids didn’t have enough fun, but the rafting in the water park is worth another try. There are several hot spring pools, I will go there next time.

A famous snack street in Mount Emei, 6.8 kilometers away from Baoguo Temple and 17 minutes by taxi. You can eat delicious and rich food for about 40 yuan per person. The stores are lined up. Every business is good, there is municipal pricing here, so there is no need to worry about being ripped off. Recommended Chengdu snacks include Chuan Chuan Xiang and Long Chao Shou.

After coming down from the Golden Summit of Mount Emei, it was already around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. It was past mealtime, and on the way back to Baoguo Temple, we passed by the Food Street. My companion was a little hungry, so we ate something to fill our stomachs because we still had dinner to eat. Three of us ordered one wonton and one vegetarian noodle. I couldn't eat any staple food because I was motion sick, so I ordered an egg with fermented glutinous rice wine and a portion of sweet potato to share with everyone. I can't remember the taste, it was just OK and not bad, just a casual bite when passing by.

Hongchunping is characterized by its tranquility and elegance. It is located in the embrace of Zhongshan peaks and has a very high altitude. There are many forests, quiet temples and excellent air here, making it a summer resort in the mountains. Hongchunping now has three levels of temples, which are majestic and spectacular. The main buildings include the Guanyin Hall, Thousand Buddha Tower, Zen Hall, monks' quarters, etc. There is a clear spring in front of the right side of the Guanyin Hall, which is called "Xizhang Spring".

When we reached the Golden Summit, the sun just came out and the golden light of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva was shining, which was quite shocking. The altitude is quite high, and we saw snow on May Day. The snow on the mountain had not melted yet. The only drawback is that there are too many people. You have to queue for more than two hours each to get on and off the cable car. The tourist bus takes a long way from the bottom of the mountain to Leidongpingshan, and children are prone to motion sickness, but overall it's not bad.

Hongzhushan Forest Hot Spring is located in Hongzhushan Hotel next to Baoguo Temple in Emei Mountain. The hot spring environment is elegant and poetic, developed based on Hongzhushan Hotel, one of the top ten resort hotels in China. There are 19 star-like hot spring pools dotted among the lush woods. They are built according to the mountainside and appear and disappear in the scattered arrangement. It is a veritable "forest hot spring".

I recommend the old brand hot spring, it's real. There is also Chiang Kai-shek here, don't bother with me. The hot spring tickets I bought separately and the hotel were really too expensive, so it wasn't worth it. Maybe it’s because it’s an old hot spring hotel. The rooms in the building are old. One building is already being renovated, but you can imagine how expensive it will be after the renovation. But you can consider it. I haven’t been to the other Lingxiu Hot Spring, so I don’t know what its hot spring is like, but the Hongzhushan Forest Hot Spring is highly recommended and recommended. It is a real hot spring. I booked a city convenience hotel near Hongzhushan Forest Hot Spring. After all, it is a chain economy hotel. Well, it is relatively reassuring and economical.

Leidongping, which is more than 2,400 meters above sea level, is the terminus of the sightseeing bus for Mount Emei Scenic Area. There are direct buses from the Baoguo Temple Passenger Transport Center at the foot of the mountain. Leidongping is also a must-go place for tourists to reach the Golden Summit. Many tourists who want to watch the sunrise at Jinding will come here one day in advance and stay at Leidongping because the accommodation cost here is cheaper than at Jinding.

Let me show you Leidongping in Mount Emei in January. It happened to be snowing here, and the children were thinking about snow every day. We arrived at Leidongping in Mount Emei. You can take a bus directly from the tourist bus station at the foot of the mountain. When we got here, we didn’t go to the temple because our children were relatively young. We mainly played in the snow and enjoyed the snow scenery.

The four-sided statue of Samantabhadra is located in the center of the Golden Summit and is the symbol of Mount Emei. The statue is made of bronze and gilded, and consists of a pedestal and the Ten Directions Samantabhadra statue. Against the backdrop of the blue sky, the Buddha statue emits a stunning glow. The four-faced and ten-direction Samantabhadra Bodhisattva is a symbol of the practice and vows of Mahayana Buddhism. "Ten directions" represents Samantabhadra's ten great vows, and also symbolizes the ten directions in Buddhism, implying that Samantabhadra's boundless vows can satisfy all the Buddhas of the ten directions and three times and all sentient beings.

The most eye-catching Buddha statue design in the dojo of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva is huge and magnificent. Unfortunately, when I went there, the sun was not very good and there was fog, so I could only take pictures like this.

Wanfoding is located in the Emeishan Scenic Area in Emeishan City, Leshan City. It is the commanding height of Mount Emei, and is surrounded by mountains like thousands of Buddhas paying homage to the Buddha. There are lush primeval forests all over the place, including the Wanfo Pavilion, the alpine rhododendron forest, the Black Bear Valley, the Immortal Turning Back and other attractions. Among them, the Wanfo Pavilion is majestic and solemn. There is an ancient bell hanging on the roof of the pavilion, which is worth a visit.

Because of the snow, the road was slippery and difficult to walk on. It took an hour and a half to go back and forth, but it was definitely worth the trip. At least I personally think that the most beautiful sea of clouds is at Wanfoding. The whole way feels like a primeval forest. Watching the Wanfo Pavilion slowly approaching and finally standing before my eyes, old, lonely, yet beautiful, it feels very charming. However, you still need to pay attention to safety. The relative height of Wanfo Pavilion is only a few dozen meters. Although it is not high, there are two ways to go up when you get close. The road on the left is short but steep, so you must pay attention on snowy days.
