Zhushan Miao Village is located in the northwest corner of Fenghuang Ancient Town in western Hunan. It is surrounded by water on the east, south and north sides, and steep mountains on the west. It is secluded in the Kunlun Peak of Fenghuang. The spring water is cool and sweet, the mountain flowers are in full bloom, and the Miao songs are intoxicating. It is one of the fortresses in western Hunan where the customs, architectural style and lifestyle of the Miao ethnic group are relatively well preserved. It is also one of the landmarks of the Miao ethnic group in western Hunan and a famous "Banpo Tribe" in China. The village has a history of more than 800 years.

Zhushan Miao Village is a pure Miao residential area with Zhushan Village Group as its feature. It has a population of nearly 1,000, with the main surnames being Wu, Long and Ma. The dialect is Miao. It has a subtropical monsoon humid climate. The local Miao people are good at Miao medicine, Miao martial arts, rock climbing, Miao songs, Miao dances and other ethnic customs and folk customs. It has a long history. The Miao people’s holy festivals such as "April 8", "Dragon Boat Festival", "September 9", "Tomb-Sweeping Day" and "Ghost Festival" express their local customs such as joy, remembrance of ancestors, blessing, bravery, spiritual respect, etc. in the form of festivals.

A Miao village that is relatively less commercialized. I got to know some of the customs and practices of the Miao people. Qilian Cave is located to the north of Fenghuang Ancient Town. There is a local saying that "after visiting Qilian, you won’t want to see the cave again". The Fenghuang Maglev Sightseeing Express can be taken from Fenghuang Ancient Town Station to Fenghuang Ancient Town Scenic Area, and get off at Fenghuang Eye Station (Fenghuang Lansheng Station). After that, you need to walk a section of the sightseeing plank road to have a general view of the Fenghuang Ancient Town Scenic Area. It takes about 15 minutes to get from Fenghuang Ancient Town Station to Fenghuang Eye Station. There is a maglev train every 15 minutes.

The Nanhuashan Shenfeng Cultural Scenic Area is located west of Hongqiao in the Fenghuang Ancient Town and within the Nanhuashan National Forest Park. The scenic area is themed around the phoenix and has developed more than 20 man-made attractions, including the Nine-Nine Divine Steps, the Giant Phoenix Sculpture, the Eighteen Divine Totem Poles, the Phoenix Museum, and the Chengfeng Plank Road. I live very close to the hotel. I came up after breakfast. It is a place overlooking the ancient city of Fenghuang. There are many photo-taking spots and decorations for internet celebrities. There are quite a lot of things to see as you go up, such as magic carpets (escalators), suspension bridges, altars, etc. I didn't finish the walk, so I took the elderly to take a look at it from a high place and left when it was almost done. If you have time, you can go deeper.

The ancient town of Fenghuang is located in the southwest of Xiangxi, Hunan Province.

The ancient city was built during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. It is nestled against mountains and beside rivers, with the Tuojiang River running through the city. City walls made of red sandstone stand on the shore and the Nanhua Mountain is set against the city towers from the Qing Dynasty. Across the river below the north gate of the ancient city, there is a narrow wooden bridge with stone piers, which was the passage out of the city in the past. The bluestone streets in the city, the stilt houses by the Tuojiang River, the numerous ancient buildings and the rich customs constitute the unique Xiangxi charm. The main attractions include the former residence of Shen Congwen, the Ancient City Museum, Chongde Hall, etc., which are worth visiting.

Fenghuang Ancient Town is a national 5A-level scenic spot. It is the hometown of literary master Shen Congwen and one of the four major ancient cities in China. Strolling in the alleys paved with bluestone slabs, you can see quaint residential buildings on stilts, Wanming Pagoda, Rainbow Bridge, Fog Bridge, Tiaoyan, as well as the former residence of Shen Congwen, the former residence of Xiong Xiling, the Yang Family Ancestral Hall, Chongde Hall, Shengheng Gate, Wanshou Palace and many other attractions worth visiting. Boating on the Tuojiang River is very pleasant.

The Phoenix China Giant Panda Park is located in Daping Village, Liaojiaqiao Town, Phoenix County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province. It has four panda venues, a panda canteen, a panda hospital and a companion animal pavilion. On July 1, 2020, the Phoenix China Giant Panda Park officially opened. After a one-month adaptation period, the giant pandas from Sichuan officially met with tourists. The Phoenix China Giant Panda Park has a construction area of 13,950 square meters and houses a panda house, a panda hospital, a science museum, a companion animal museum and other facilities. It is the largest panda theme park in Hunan that integrates tourism, scientific research, popular science, leisure and entertainment. The environment is good, with several panda houses scattered around, and it is not far from Fenghuang Ancient Town, a 20-minute drive away. Convenient parking, and good service from the staff. It's just that the amusement park was still under construction when we went there, so we haven't experienced the amusement park in the panda house yet, but overall, if you have had enough of playing in Fenghuang Ancient Town and there are elderly people and children in your group, this place is recommended.

Feishui Valley is a scenic spot in Liaojiaqiao Town near the Ancient Town of Fenghuang in Xiangxi, Hunan Province. It is famous for its beauty, strangeness and danger. Feishui Valley is a relatively unpopular tourist attraction, and its management is not perfect, mainly because it has not rained recently, so the feeling and scenery along the way have been reduced, but it still feels good to have walked all the way. The entrance of the scenic area is downhill all the way, and finally, you reach the big waterfall in the scenic area. There is a small cave not far from the entrance. It may be closed because there are few people in the scenic area. Standing at the entrance of the cave is like standing at the air outlet of an air conditioner, with gusts of cold air blowing out. Most of the walking trails along the way are shaded by trees, and you can feel cool as long as you are under the shade. Although it has not rained for several months, there is still some water flowing out from the mountains and cracks in the rocks along the way. You can imagine that during normal rainfall periods, mountain springs will burst out from the cracks in the rocks along the way, the flow of rivers and streams will be larger, and the beauty along the way will be multiplied several times. We strolled for more than an hour. There were many large and small waterfalls along the way, and there were platforms where you could play in the water by the river and stream. Please pay attention to safety. When you get close to the end, you will walk along a cliff path right next to the top of the waterfall, where you can get a close look at the waterfall, which is quite shocking. After walking along the plank road, there is a downhill road. You can choose to slide down on the slide. The distance is not long and it only takes about 10 minutes to walk slowly. The tour ends when you reach the bottom of the waterfall. You can choose to return the same way you came, or take the elevator to the top of the mountain and then take the sightseeing bus to the entrance of the scenic area. If you choose the latter, you can see different scenery when you take the elevator. There is also an observation deck that is quite shocking. We took a sightseeing bus to the top of the mountain. This is a village. The kiwis grown there are very delicious. The advantage of visiting unpopular attractions is that the entire process feels like you have contracted the scenic spot yourself.

Fengxianjing Forest Hot Spring Resort is located in the thousand-year-old Phoenix Ancient Town, backed by Nanhuashan National Forest Park, close to the lower reaches of Tuojiang River, surrounded by forest oxygen bars, and a pleasant hot spring secret realm. Bathing in the fairyland of the manor, you can enjoy the natural spring water containing fluorine metasilicic acid. The hot spring centre has a total of 68 outdoor hot spring pools and 11 private hot spring bath houses, consisting of six major areas, namely Holy Spring Waterfall, Sand Sea Fun, Pear Garden Dream, Xiuyu Valley, Yaochi Fairyland, and Fairy Mountain Pavilion, each with its characteristics, beautiful water quality and abundant water.
