Take a tour boat or the train from Lucerne and you can reach various resort towns and the famous peaks in the Alps. From May to November, the Golden Round Trip is a popular route among visitors to see the Mt. Titlis. This includes a boat ride (90 minutes), the world’s steepest gondola (30 minutes), a mid-air suspension ride (5 minutes), a cable car ride (20 minutes). All of this loops up into a circle-shaped route where you can travel all over this iconic mountain in Lucerne.

Titilis is 3,238 m in height and located in Engelberg, south of Lake Lucerne. It is known for having the world’s first 360-degree turning cable car, and Europe’s highest suspension bridge. It is a renowned scenic spot in the Alps, known for its never-melting glaciers and glacial crevices around the world.

Many people come to Titilis for its world’s first 360-degree cable car, which is in the third section of the cable car ride. The cable car would self spin in 360 degrees while moving upwards to the peak at 3,239 m on the top of Titilis. In this 5-minute route the cable car would have made one full turn. You can then observe the cliff from a 360-degree angle. You’ll gaze deep into the glacial crevice and the snow-capped mountain ranges at a distance.

Mt. Rigi is known as the Queen of the Alps at 1,800 m in height. It is located in the middle part of Switzerland and close to Lucerne. There is the first cog railway in Europe built on its slopes. Since ancient times it’s been a popular place to watch the sunrise and sunset. At the viewing area on the mountain top, enjoy a full panoramic view of the Alps which stretches out to the Black Forest in Germany and the plains in France.

Mt. Rigi is a great place for entertainment and relaxation, as well as being one of Switzerland’s most popular spots. Here not only do you get to see amazing sceneries of the Alps, you can enjoy some 100 km of hiking and walking paths, picnic areas with coverage, children’s playground and old steam engine trains etc. You can skiing, sledding and all kinds of adventures and fun-filled activities here.

Lake Lucerne is located in the middle of Switzerland and is Switzerland’s 4th biggest lake. It is also the biggest lake in Switzerland which is fully contained inside the country. As there are many high mountains nearby such as Pilatus and Rigi, this forms a picture-perfect image typical of Swiss landscape.

Lake Lucerne is also known as the Lake of the Four Cantons. The four surrounding provinces are the first founded provinces in Switzerland and is where the country of Switzerland was founded. It is also perceived as the most romantic lake in Switzerland. Audrey Hepburn and Sophia Loren all used to live here.

Weggis is located on the shores of Lake Lucerne and at the foot of Mt. Rigi. This is a small town known for its rose plantations toiled by the locals. In early July every year they have their own rose festival. Every year’s festival will see the town coming up with various activities and the most famous one is choosing their Rose Queen.

Many famous writers and musicians have visited Weggis, such as Goethe, Mark Twain and the Russian composer Rachmaninoff has lived here for more than 10 years. He ended up staying here eternally and apparently his descendants still live here.

Engelberg means “the town of Angels”, it’s a famous skiing and hot water resort town located close to Lucerne and below the Titilis. It’s absolutely breathtaking here with lots of natural resources. Titilis has its back facing 10,000 years of snow and glaciers, and is therefore a place where visitors can enjoy all kinds of sports like skiing, bungee-jumping, hand-gliding and more.

After you’ve enjoyed the snow and ice in Titilis, Alps style, visitors can head back to the abbey at the foot of the hill to see how Engelberg cheese is made, as well as check out the garden built back in the 17th century.
