comments:
Mogan Mountain combines natural beauty with cultural heritage. The mountains, forests and bamboo seas are like rolling green seas, the waterfalls and springs are lively and vivid, and the scenery of each season has its own charm. It carries the legend of Gan Jiang and Mo Ye forging swords, and preserves many buildings from the Republic of China in various styles. Nowadays, homestays are booming and the vacation experience is enriched. Although it has some shortcomings in terms of transportation, peak season experience, etc., it is still an ideal place for leisure, vacation and experiencing historical and cultural heritage.
Wuzhen is an ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River with a long history in the northern suburbs of Tongxiang. The main scenic area is divided into Xizha and Dongzha. Don’t miss Xizha’s lit-up canals at night—enhanced by a rowboat ride and folk performances. This is also the filming location of "A Time to Live and a Time to Die" starring Huang Lei and Rene Liu.
Dongzha and Xizha are about 1.5 kilometers apart. If you want to visit both Dongzha and Xizha in one day, you should arrive in Wuzhen early in the morning and visit Dongzha first (2-3 hours), then start visiting Xizha after lunch and continue to visit Xizha at night to see the night view. If you have two more days, you can consider spending one day in Xizha and one day in Dongzha.

Highlights of Xizha and Dongzha:
You can spend a day strolling on the stone pavement of Xizha, trying local snacks such as stinky tofu, Dingsheng cake, and sister-in-law cake, or visit cultural sites such as Zhaoming Academy and the old post office. Of course, you can also take a rowboat to savor the water town.
If time permits, don't miss the night tour of Xizha. The water lanes, ancient bridges and white walls are illuminated by lights, which is a beautiful sight, and it is even more interesting to tour them by rowing. After enjoying the night view, you can go to the bar for a drink or two, or watch an open-air old movie or listen to a flower drum opera, which is very pleasant.
Compared with Xizha, Dongzha is smaller but has a stronger atmosphere of life. There are still local people living here, and there are also attractions such as the shadow puppet theater, Sanbai Liquor Workshop, Xiuzhen Temple, and Mao Dun's former residence. You can also watch performances such as the boxing boat (boxing on the boat) and the high pole boat (climbing bamboo poles on the boat), so that you can find richer folk customs and historical connotations. There are shuttle buses between Dongzha and Xizha.
Food and specialties:
Braised lamb and pickled duck are must-try delicacies when visiting Wuzhen, and the lamb is especially famous. The Hanlin Mansion Hotel and Fengyuan Restaurant in Dongzha, the Yusheng Restaurant and the Braised Duck Restaurant in Xizha are all popular restaurants. You may also want to try the special snacks such as fried stinky tofu, Dingsheng cake, and sister-in-law cakes sold in the streets and alleys.
If you want to bring some local specialties back, the handmade "Three White Liquors", Tao Xuchang brand bean paste, exquisite wood carvings and bamboo carvings, as well as headscarves, coasters, umbrellas, wallets and various pictographic pendants made of "blue printed cloth" are all good choices. There are many specialty shops on the street.
Accommodation in the scenic area:
There are many hotels and inns in the Xizha Scenic Area, all of which are managed by the government. The fees range from low to high. Staying in the scenic area can make it convenient for sightseeing and better experience the night view of Xizha.
There are also many hotels and inns to choose from outside the scenic area, and the prices are relatively cheaper than those inside the scenic area.
Address: No. 18, Shifo South Road, Tongxiang City, Jiaxing City
Opening hours: 09:00-22:00
comments:
There aren't many people in the off-season. Dongzha is relatively small and you can finish visiting it in a short time. It’s not very interesting and you can choose to go or not. Xizha is pretty good and you need to stay for a whole day to visit it. Some restaurants in the scenic area have good food, large portions and high cost-performance.
Nanxun Ancient Town, a picturesque ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River, has a long history and a river running through the town. 750 years of ups and downs have refined it into a charming place with outstanding people, beautiful scenery, and abundant resources. Nanxun Ancient Town has been home to mostly wealthy people since ancient times, and the buildings are all beautiful manors of the wealthy. And because Western style was once popular here, Nanxun is also an ancient town that combines Chinese and Western styles, noble and elegant. Take in the canal-side mansions from a boat—their uniformity is oddly mesmerizing..
Address: No. 51, Renrui Road, Nanxun District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province
Opening hours: 24 hours a day, all year round

We took a boat from Guanghui Bridge to Xiaolianzhuang. The night view was very beautiful. There were white walls and green tiles on both sides of the river. The river breeze was very pleasant. The river water is also very clean and has no peculiar smell. It is a unique experience to sit on the boat and enjoy the scenery. I not only watched the night view, but also saw the bustle on both sides of the river. It's really worth checking in!
