I ordered a BMW but got a Mini. Picking up and returning the car was convenient and smooth, thankfully. Brussels' streets are narrow and lined with parked cars, making driving slow and difficult. Suddenly, a two-wheeled vehicle would cut in from the side, and a beggar would even ask for alms from the front of the car. Make sure to lock your car doors securely. Driving here really tests your skills. Tunnel lanes are so narrow they can only fit four wheels, and highways are only three or four lanes. There are frequent bumps and potholes, making this city a true driving training ground. Fortunately, the drivers are very courteous, and hotels and attractions all have free public parking. I rented a car from SIXT at the train station for a few days and finally returned it safely.

This was such an easy and enjoyable experience. I was travelling across multiple countries and the car was excellent for the longer journeys we had (and we paid a very reasonable price for the 4 days!). The only issue we had was the description of what could be fitted in the car in terms of luggage. We had 4 adults and we found the car couldn’t fit all of our luggage which was not excessive, one suitcase each and most just had a hand luggage sized one. So maybe double check and go for a larger car if you are a bigger group! Excellent service and the car was wonderful to drive and connect phones to! Also was offered additional insurance but didn’t feel pressured into taking it like with some other companies which I appreciated.
