Hertz upgraded me to a 7 seater Medium SUV, but the vehicle was worse for wear, with many noticeable scratches and dings as well as a rather dusty interior. There were also some mechanical issues - the steering rack squeaked, the car would lurch when put into gear and the brakes endlessly squeaked. The car was a 2019 model so it was at least 4 years old as well. However, for the low price paid, it was more or less expected.
