✨This cruise experience exceeded my expectations! The ship was clean and elegant, the food was plentiful and delicious, and the service was attentive and thoughtful. The river breeze and views during the cruise were incredibly soothing. Disembarking at shore allowed for exploration, the pace was relaxed and unhurried, and the whole family had a wonderful time. A fantastic vacation, highly recommended! The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the public areas had a wonderful atmosphere. There were many dining options, from main courses to snacks, so you could satisfy your cravings anytime. I'll definitely come back! The butler, Xiong Luxi, from the Century Voyage Performing Arts Department, provided excellent service; she was very attentive and a beautiful young woman.

Six years later, we took our family on a Century Cruises trip through the Three Gorges again, and the experience was superb. The Glory's interior facilities are relatively new, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The dining deserves special praise; there were almost no repeated dishes throughout the trip, and we were very satisfied with every meal. Moreover, the cruise staff were very welcoming and provided attentive service, making us feel right at home. The interactive games and entertainment performances were also excellent, ensuring we were never bored on board. The picturesque scenery along the banks was truly delightful.

I brought my wife, a woman in her 30s. In my youth, I traveled upstream through the Three Gorges from Yichang, but this experience was completely different. Back then, the Three Gorges Dam wasn't built yet, the Gezhouba Dam's No. 3 lock was in its prime, the Three Gorges were towering cliffs, the Xiling Gorge was littered with garbage, and the Lesser Three Gorges still had boat trackers. Now, apart from the Qutang Gorge and the Qutang Gorge, the natural scenery of the other sections of the Yangtze isn't particularly breathtaking. But I don't complain; it's a different kind of experience. Enjoying the scenery on both banks of the Yangtze on the now exceptionally clean water, feeling its relentless flow, and experiencing its constant renewal. The activities were well-planned, well-paced, and meaningful. Everyone could choose and arrange their time according to the day's itinerary. Coincidentally, it was the third day of the cruise, the Mid-Autumn Festival, and my wife and I even made mooncakes and glutinous rice cakes. The rooms were small but well-designed, cozy, and comfortable. The staff were diligent in cleaning the rooms without making us feel disturbed; we never encountered any issues. The buffet wasn't particularly amazing, but the selection was plentiful, and you could tell the kitchen was dedicated to the food and responsible to their guests. The servers were all very enthusiastic and polite young people. More than half the passengers were foreigners, and the children were very generous with their bilingual service; I heard they take a vacation every three months. We were very fortunate that the weather was ideal throughout the voyage. When we departed from Chaotianmen, the moon was bright and the stars were few; we set off under the moonlight amidst the dazzling night view of Chaotianmen. It was cloudy when we passed through the Qutang and Wu Gorges. The wind was incredibly strong on the top deck, but we didn't have to suffer from the scorching sun while crossing the Three Gorges. I don't know why there were no shore excursions to Baidi City. I visited Baidi City years ago and looked towards the Qutang Gorge from there. Back then, the Three Gorges Dam resettlement hadn't started on a large scale yet; now, I hope the Three Gorges migrants have settled down and prospered in their new homes. The only downside was that four days and three nights was too short. I wish I could have enjoyed a longer vacation on the ship! 😄

Choosing Century Dream Cruises for this trip was a great success. Firstly, this was Century Dream's second voyage since its maiden voyage on September 21, 2026. The ship was brand new, the cabins were cozy, the service was attentive, and the facilities were comprehensive, including a bar, laundry room, fitness center, and KTV. The food was plentiful and varied. Secondly, both onboard and shore activities were well-organized. Thirdly, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the complimentary airport shuttle service made travel convenient. Overall, the experience was fantastic! I hope more tourists will choose Century Dream Cruises!

I still prefer departing from Yichang to Chongqing, as this allows me to enjoy an extra day on the cruise. I love the quiet waiting amidst the towering gorges and placid lakes, the breeze from the Yangtze River on the sun deck, lying on the deck watching cargo ships drift by, the glittering lights along the banks at night, and the sound of giant ships churning the water. Standing atop the Three Gorges, watching the Yangtze River surge into the Qutang Gorge, and seeing giant ships navigating the 8,000-meter-deep Qutang Gorge like tiny boats. The happiest part of each day is still the three meals: fresh ingredients, diverse selection, generous portions—the food waits for you, not the other way around, allowing ample time to savor each bite. This cruise trip far exceeded my expectations; I could lie back, de-stress, and be as comfortable as possible, returning to my carefree self. I sincerely hope you experience it and truly enjoy it…

Overall, the experience was quite good. We were on the fourth deck and barely felt any shaking or noise. The cruise ship is relatively old. Since it caters to foreign guests, some facilities are quite international, but it's a good place to practice your spoken English, as the crew speaks excellent English. You can also see some very pretty foreign girls. Because there are foreign guests, the food, while plentiful, is... relatively average and bland. Recreational facilities include a gym, a card room (for a fee), and a bar. The sights along the way are basically the same for all cruise ships. The Three Gorges Summit is beautiful and worth visiting, but our guide there wasn't very professional and had a poor attitude, offering very little explanation. We only got a few words of explanation after reaching the top of the mountain, thanks to a request from one of the older members of our group. The guide at Fengdu Ghost City was excellent, very professional, and provided exceptional service, offering bilingual commentary. However, the attraction itself is average; it's educational but not very engaging. The entire itinerary was quite relaxed, with shuttle service to and from shore attractions and minimal walking or climbing, so it wasn't tiring at all. One drawback of this ship is that there's some obstruction in front of the deck, which makes the view through the Qutang Gorge less than ideal. No matter where you stand, you can't enjoy the scenery completely unobstructed. Of course, if you stay in a large suite, there's a private viewing platform with no obstructions. Overall, it's not bad.

Chongqing's cuisine is renowned for its spicy, fresh, and fragrant characteristics, from the spicy oil-dipped hotpot and Chuan Chuan to the al dente and chewy Xiaomian and Hot and Sour Noodles, to the gold ingot-shaped wontons, all reflecting this mountain city's love and pursuit of spicy flavors and rich ingredients.

Chongqing Transportation

Chongqing, a vast municipality in southwest China, is a major transportation hub, accessible by air, rail, bus, or road from international and domestic locations. By Air   Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (CKG): The primary gateway, located ~25 km (15 miles) northeast of downtown. Serves international and domestic flights.   To City Center from CKG: Metro Line 10 (45–60 minutes, ¥3–12) connects to downtown via stations like Hongqihegou. Airport shuttles (60–90 minutes, ~¥20–35) serve key areas like Jiefangbei and North Railway Station. Taxis cost ~¥70–130, depending on traffic.    By Train   Chongqing North Railway Station: The largest hub for high-speed trains (G-series), connecting to Chengdu (1.5–2 hours), Beijing (10–12 hours), Shanghai (10.5–12 hours), Xi’an (5–6 hours), and other major cities.   Chongqing West and East Railway Stations handle high-speed and regional routes. Chongqing Station (Caiyuanba) manages slower trains.   To City Center: All major stations connect to Chongqing’s metro.   By Bus   Chongqing Long-distance Bus Terminal and Shapingba Station connect to regional destinations like Wulong (3 hours) or Dazu (2 hours).     By Road   Driving or private transport is possible via expressways like the G50 (to Shanghai) or G65 (to Chengdu). Road travel is less recommended for international visitors due to complex driving regulations, language barriers, and Chongqing’s hilly terrain.

Chongqing Where to Stay

Chongqing is a vibrant city in Southwest China, renowned for its unique topography and bustling urban areas. The city's accommodations are spread across several key districts, each offering distinct experiences for travelers.

Chongqing Best Time to Visit

Spring (March–May) and Fall (September–November) are Chongqing’s optimal seasons, offering mild weather, clear skies, and ideal conditions for exploring its dramatic landscapes, riverside attractions, and fiery cuisine. Spring: 2–25°C (54–77°F), with light rain and decreasing fog. Cherry blooms at Nanshan Botanical Garden (peak: late March). Wulong Karst without summer crowds; cable cars offer mist-free views. Summer: Hot, humid 28–40°C (82–104°F), with intense thunderstorms. Fall: Crisp, sunny 16–26°C (61–79°F); minimal fog. Golden ginkgos along the Yangtze Riverwalk, hot springs at Beiwenquan (Beibei District). Chongqing Hot Pot Food Culture Festival (October) with riverside dining and spice competitions. Winter: Chilly, foggy 5–10°C (41–50°F); rare light snow in highlands. See the mist-shrouded skyscrapers and neon-lit hillsides ("Fog City" magic). Budget Perk: Hotels drop 30% (except New Year’s Eve and Spring Festival).

Chongqing Useful Guide

Mandarin Chinese is the official language. English signage is widespread in tourist areas, but English is not widely spoken.

Frequently Asked Questions

You must carry a passport with an expiration date that meets the destination's requirements (usually valid for at least 6 months after the cruise ends; please refer to the actual boarding information), your cruise boarding pass (e-ticket or printed copy), and any visas required by all countries/regions on your itinerary. Depending on your nationality, other identification documents (such as a residence card or national ID card) may also be required. Please confirm the final requirements with the relevant embassies or consulates and the cruise line before departure.
Modern large cruise ships are equipped with advanced stabilizers and are routed to avoid rough seas, meaning most passengers never experience noticeable seasickness. If you are prone to motion sickness, consider booking a cabin on the mid-to-lower decks where movement is minimal. Other helpful tips include packing motion sickness medication, wearing anti-nausea wristbands, and getting fresh air on open decks. Note: Medication availability at the onboard medical center varies, so please check with your specific cruise line.
The vast majority of cruises automatically charge a fixed service fee to your daily cruise card account. For specific rates and collection methods, please refer to the information published by the cruise line after boarding. This fee typically covers basic gratuities for room service, dining staff, and more. Unless you wish to tip extra for exceptional service, additional cash tips are not required. We recommend consulting the cruise line's official guidelines when booking or after boarding.
Most international cruise lines use the US Dollar as their onboard currency. Upon boarding, you will link a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.) to your cruise card. The ship operates on a "cashless" system, meaning all onboard purchases (dining, drinks, shopping, service fees) are charged directly to your account and settled at the end of the trip. While you don't need large amounts of cash on board, we recommend bringing some small bills (USD or local currency) for minor expenses and tips at ports of call.
Usually, within an hour after leaving port, your phone will connect to a maritime roaming network, which carries extremely high call and data roaming charges (often exceeding US$ 5/minute). We strongly advise putting your phone in Airplane Mode and relying solely on the ship's Wi-Fi. Most ships offer paid Wi-Fi packages. Purchasing a voyage-long package is generally much more cost-effective than paying by the day. Some luxury cruise lines include basic Wi-Fi in your fare.
Every international cruise ship is equipped with a medical center staffed by at least one internationally certified doctor and nurse. They are fully capable of treating common illnesses (colds, gastroenteritis) and minor injuries. Please note: Onboard medical care is quite expensive, and the pharmacy has limited stock. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance with cruise medical coverage and packing an ample supply of any prescription or over-the-counter medications you regularly use.
After boarding, you must attend a mandatory safety drill (usually required to be completed within 24 hours). During the drill, you will hear the ship's dedicated alarm signal. Please immediately put on your life jacket (located in your cabin closet) and follow the evacuation route map on the back of your door to your designated assembly station. Please keep in mind: Do not use the elevators, follow the crew's instructions, and stay calm. Even if you have been on multiple cruises, you must participate in the drill on every new voyage. Please refer to the ship's on-site broadcasts and guidance for the specific signal and assembly location.
On the night before disembarkation, please follow the instructions issued by the cruise line to attach baggage tags to your checked luggage (excluding clothing, documents and valuables you will need the next morning) and place it in the designated area outside your stateroom door. Keep your passport, room key card and a small amount of carry-on belongings with you. On the day of disembarkation, please vacate your stateroom before the specified time and disembark in batches as notified. Do not linger in the stateroom. Finally, check all drawers, wardrobes and the safe. For the specific schedule and baggage requirements, please refer to the "Disembarkation Guide" provided by the cruise line.

Onboard the Disney Cruise Line: A Magical Voyage at Sea

Onboard the Disney Cruise Line: A Magical Voyage at Sea

#cruiseholiday Sailing with Disney Cruise Line was a dream come true! From the moment we stepped onboard, the ship was bursting with magic—character meet-and-greets, themed dinners, and Broadway-style shows that wowed us every night. The staterooms were comfortable and thoughtfully designed, and the service was truly exceptional. I loved the adults-only areas for some quiet time, while the kids were completely entertained at the clubs. Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island, was paradise with crystal-clear water and fun activities for all ages. Whether you're a Disney fan or just love relaxing, this cruise is pure joy from start to finish. Can’t wait to go again!

Dear friends, I just discovered an exclusive itinerary and I have to be the first to tell you!

Dear friends, I just discovered an exclusive itinerary and I have to be the first to tell you!

The Ritz-Carlton’s ultra-luxury yacht "Luminara" will sail directly from Hong Kong to Tokyo in March 2026, for 13 days and 12 nights. This is not an ordinary cruise ship; it’s a moving palace carrying only a few hundred guests. Imagine this: we board at sunrise in Victoria Harbour, staying in suites with panoramic terraces, with a private butler who has already prepared champagne. Every day, you wake up by the infinity pool to see the sea, and the butler even remembers how you like your coffee. It will take us to hidden islands that ordinary travelers can’t reach, hosting champagne parties on beaches open only to guests. The ship’s Michelin-starred chef’s restaurant changes its menu daily depending on the port. The best part is the spa facing the sea—this is the true meaning of "where the sea meets the sky." I’m so excited. It’s like a flowing feast—quiet, private, and every moment carefully attended to. In the spring of 2026, let’s completely indulge our time between the sea and the sky.

Honestly, this has been the most worry-free trip I’ve ever taken with kids. No need to do detailed research, no language barriers to worry about, no huge expenses, and still plenty of food and fun. Cruises are truly an ideal way to travel abroad with kids for the first time! Everyone can enjoy the joy of traveling on board. We started our journey with the Genting Dream cruise, which offers full one-stop service. Everything you need for food and fun is right there—you don’t need to plan anything in advance. 😎 Besides the water park, there are also free activities such as the Little Explorers kids’ club, mini golf, basketball courts, rock climbing, indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzis, and more. The reflections of the pink blossoms in the still water are beautiful. It’s where the locals go to have a quiet picnic. It’s only a 5-minute walk from the main stream but feels like a different world. It’s my favorite 'hidden' spot in the city."

Super Galaxy Cruise.

Super Galaxy Cruise.

I came to Bangkok for a date with my partner this time and booked a free experience tour. 🌌Super Galaxy Cruise🛳️ The entire experience was both romantic and packed with activities—it was such a steal! We spent the evening strolling around ICONSIAM and enjoying the river breeze before boarding at around 8:00 PM. We were blown away as soon as we stepped on board. The Super Galaxy Cruise is incredibly spacious, and the galaxy-themed lighting design is stylish with a futuristic vibe—perfect for photos! We enjoyed the 360-degree night view of the Chao Phraya River while feeling the cool breeze. Along the way, we passed the glowing Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, and the Rama VIII Bridge. Those landmarks, illuminated against the night sky, were breathtakingly beautiful. Watching them with my partner was so romantic. The buffet dinner depends on personal taste, but the seafood was fresh. The grilled giant prawns and salmon sashimi were delicious, and there were unlimited drinks. A live band played great music, and there were wonderful traditional Thai dances and cabaret shows in between. The atmosphere throughout the two-and-a-half-hour cruise was fantastic—there was never a dull moment! With stunning views, delicious food, and a wonderful atmosphere, it was truly an unforgettable romantic night for two.

"Carnival Splendor: The Ship That’s Like a Disco Fever Dream (With Unlimited Chocolate Melting Cake)

"Carnival Splendor: The Ship That’s Like a Disco Fever Dream (With Unlimited Chocolate Melting Cake)

#cruiseholiday Hold onto your glitter, because Carnival Splendor isn’t just a cruise—it’s a floating ‘70s revival where the pink zebra-striped decor is wild, the dessert menu never ends, and the party lasts all night. I just got back, and my inner diva is still recovering. Here’s the scoop: First Impressions: Stepping into the Atrium felt like walking into a disco ball explosion—pink glass elevators, neon lights, and the smell of Pinnacle Steakhouse’s sizzling filets 🥩 mixing with Swirls’ soft-serve vanilla. The vibe? “Saturday Night Fever meets all-you-can-eat.” The “This Ship is SO Extra” Moment: The Cloud 9 Spa’s thalassotherapy pool—a giant saltwater hot tub where I melted like the chocolate cake I’d later inhale. But the real hidden gem? El Mojito Bar’s spicy watermelon mojito (ask for extra chili salt!). 🌶️🍹 Foodie Glory: Chocolate Melting Cake ruined me for all other desserts (I ate it six nights straight). But the *24-hour* Pizza Pirate’s prosciutto pie? A drunken masterpiece. 🍕 My “Disco Never Dies” Itinerary: ⏰ 9 AM: Seaday Brunch with maple bacon pancakes (because balance). ⏰ 12 PM: Twister Waterslide (screamed like I was on American Idol). ⏰ 4 PM: Serenity Deck nap (with a Miami Vice in hand). ⏰ 8 PM: Pink Zebra Lounge karaoke (Dancing Queen = mandatory). ⏰ 12 AM: Robusto Bar’s cigar lounge (felt dangerously fancy). Pro Tip: Book the steakhouse on embarkation day—it’s half-price! Also, Lido Deck’s midnight nachos are a sinful must. 🌮 Final Verdict: 20/10, left sugar-drunk, slightly hoarse, and already planning my next glitter-filled escape. Who’s ready to splurge on Splendor? 💃
