The buffet restaurant on the sixth floor and the à la carte restaurant on the second floor each have their own unique features, but both are very convenient, offering food to satisfy almost everyone's needs. The bar on the third floor offers early bird meals, catering to early risers. Particularly noteworthy is the free-flowing selection of various red and white wines, whiskeys, and beers. The waiters' attentiveness is truly admirable. The entertainment on the cruise ship is truly enjoyable for energetic individuals. Especially commendable are the daily debriefings after each cruise, which provide a wealth of knowledge about seafaring. The afternoon Antarctic exploration and science lectures are particularly memorable.

A once-in-a-lifetime experience: a Spring Festival Antarctic trip! 17 days is considered the "basic" Antarctic itinerary, already dreamlike enough for those not into adventure. Personally, I feel a trip to Antarctica isn't complete without experiencing the Drake Passage, and thankfully, both the outbound and return journeys encountered relatively "gentle" 4-5 meter waves, which I managed without seasickness medication. This was my first time on an Antarctic cruise, so I can't make direct comparisons, but Pontopiles' cruise ships, in terms of both facilities and service, lived up to the hype on Ctrip, Douyin, and Xiaohongshu. Led by a handsome captain, we experienced a wealth of polar scenery and activities. Unlimited Wi-Fi on board was a big plus. Because the trip was quite far, I opted for a group tour. Ctrip and the travel agency, LaMeiTu, handled almost everything. Before the trip, they helped with visas, booked flights, and reminded us of important information. From the airport, LaMeiTu's tour leader, Hao Zhipeng, became our nanny, guide, photographer, translator, and more. Before the trip, I mentioned to the travel agency that we would be celebrating our wedding anniversary and birthday, not expecting much. However, our guide, Hao, specially brought supplies from China to decorate our room on the cruise ship. We celebrated our anniversary and birthday on board and even received a congratulatory letter from the captain – a very pleasant surprise and meaningful experience. Latino Travel is reliable.

Faced with nature, humanity is so insignificant. The closer we get to nature, the more awe we feel. The Arctic Ocean is not just covered in snow and ice floes; its diverse landscapes are truly breathtaking. Each cruise brings a new experience, a shared feeling and a feast for the eyes. The "feast" of the Arctic Ocean and the polar regions remains, and these beautiful scenes and profound emotions will be forever preserved in our memories and hearts.

This cruise offers excellent value for money, especially for travelers looking for short getaways. The Star Cruises offers convenient 3-4 day itineraries, significantly reducing travel time between islands and enhancing the overall experience. While the rooms aren't large, all staff are incredibly friendly, and the cleanliness is excellent. 👍🏻

Cruises are quite a unique experience, taking you to different locations each day. You can participate in onboard activities or other activities outside, all at your own expense and your choice. The Mediterranean cruise was calm and very comfortable! Personally, I found the food on board to be just average; the flavors were bland, and you had to add chili yourself. Overall, I would highly recommend this kind of trip.

This itinerary is absolutely great value, allowing you to visit all the major attractions of the two Spanish and Portuguese tours via shore excursions. It also includes destinations typically inaccessible by land, such as Palma, Valencia, Gibraltar, and Portimonense. The Benagher Caves tour, departing from Portimonense, is particularly spectacular.

Lisbon Transportation

Lisbon is easily accessible via its main airport, with efficient public transport links to the city center, supplemented by trains and buses from other European cities. By Air: Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS), also known as Lisbon Portela Airport, is located 7 km (4.3 miles) northeast of the city center, serving all commercial flights. To City Center - Metro: Upon exiting the arrivals hall at Terminal 1, turn right and follow the signs for the metro, marked by the red “M” logo. The station is located directly outside. Take the Red Line (Aeroporto–Saldanha) to downtown stations such as Baixa-Chiado or Rossio. The journey takes about 20-30 minutes. If you need to transfer, you can do so at Alameda for the Green Line or São Sebastião for the Blue Line. Trains run every 6-9 minutes, from 6:30 AM to 1:00 AM. You can purchase a Navegante card from the ticket machines (with an English language option available) and load it with a single fare or a 24-hour pass, which also includes buses and trams. You can also use contactless bank cards for single fares by tapping them at the gates. - Buses: Find the bus stop outside of Terminal 1. Lines 744, 783, and 708 connect the airport to the city center. Buy tickets at airport kiosks or from the driver onboard.  - Taxis: Exit Terminal 1 arrivals and proceed directly to the taxi rank located outside, available 24/7. Metered fares to downtown are € 20-25 (extra charges apply for luggage and tolls), with a travel time of 15-25 minutes, depending on traffic. Night fares (9 PM-6 AM) are 20% higher. Ensure the meter is on and request a receipt to avoid scams. Pay with cash, credit/debit cards, or mobile payments; confirm card acceptance.  - Ride-Shares: Uber, Bolt, or FreeNow pick up at the P2 parking lot (short-stay car park on the Departures floor, north of arrivals). Fares are similar to those of taxis; however, Bolt may be a more affordable option.  By Train: Key stations to arrive at include Gare do Oriente and Santa Apolónia. Take a high-speed train from a major city within Portugal, like Porto or Faro, or a long-distance train from Spain. International high-speed train services connect Lisbon to cities such as Madrid, while domestic high-speed Alfa Pendular (AP) trains provide fast connections within Portugal. Tickets can be purchased via the CP website or at the station.  By Bus: Sete Rios or Gare do Oriente terminals serve FlixBus or Rede Expressos from Madrid (8 hours), Porto (3.5 hours), or other regional destinations. You can purchase tickets online through the companies' websites or apps for the best fares, or at bus stations and sometimes on the bus itself.

Lisbon Where to Stay

Lisbon offers a diverse range of accommodation areas, each with its own unique charm and characteristics.

Lisbon Best Time to Visit

Lisbon’s mild climate makes it a year-round destination, with September–October offering warm, sunny days and fewer crowds, ideal for exploring hills or nearby beaches. March–May brings blooming parks and festivals, while summer is lively but busy. December glows with holiday markets despite cooler, wetter weather. Spring (March–May): Temperatures 12°C–20°C (54°F–68°F), with sunny days, occasional showers, and blooming jacarandas.  Summer (June–August): 18°C–28°C (64°F–82°F), mostly sunny with long days. Peak season for festivals like NOS Alive (July) and beaches; crowds surge 20-30%, and prices rise. Book 3-4 months ahead.  Autumn (September–October): Warmest at 15°C–25°C (59°F–77°F), clear skies, and fewer tourists. Winter (December–February): 8°C–15°C (46°F–59°F), rainy with shorter days. December sparkles with Christmas markets at Eduardo VII Park and festive lights. Quieter, cheaper, ideal for museums or fado bars.

Lisbon Travel Tips

1. Be Cautious Near the Waterfront: The waterfront areas in Lisbon can have strong currents and slippery surfaces. Exercise caution when walking near the water, especially with children. Always follow safety signs and lifeguard instructions, avoid unstable cliffs, and be aware of rip currents. It's safer to visit guarded beaches and avoid swimming in areas without lifeguards. 2. Taxi Safety in Lisbon: Use official taxis or ride-hailing apps to ensure fair pricing and safety. Official taxis are cream-colored or black and green. Always ensure the meter is running or agree on a price before starting your journey. Avoid set prices and be cautious of drivers offering tours. Use GPS to track your route and prefer taxis from official stands or apps. 3. Photography and Drone Regulations: Photography in many museums and historical sites in Lisbon is restricted, with some prohibiting photography or flash photography. Drone usage is regulated, requiring prior authorization from the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) and adherence to no-fly zones. Drones must be flown within sight, below 120 meters, and away from crowds and sensitive areas. Always check local laws and signage to avoid fines or equipment confiscation. 4. Save Money with Lisboa Card: The Lisboa Card offers free or discounted entry to many attractions, as well as unlimited public transportation. It's a great way to save money while exploring the city. 5. Strict Smoking Regulations: Smoking is prohibited in most indoor public places in Lisbon, including restaurants and bars unless they meet specific size and ventilation requirements. Always look for designated smoking areas to avoid fines.

Lisbon Useful Guide

Portuguese is the primary language. English is widely spoken in tourist areas, hotels, restaurants, and transportation hubs due to Lisbon’s global appeal. Navigation is easy with English, with bilingual signs in key spots.

Frequently Asked Questions

You must carry a passport with an expiration date that meets the destination's requirements (usually valid for at least 6 months after the cruise ends; please refer to the actual boarding information), your cruise boarding pass (e-ticket or printed copy), and any visas required by all countries/regions on your itinerary. Depending on your nationality, other identification documents (such as a residence card or national ID card) may also be required. Please confirm the final requirements with the relevant embassies or consulates and the cruise line before departure.
Modern large cruise ships are equipped with advanced stabilizers and are routed to avoid rough seas, meaning most passengers never experience noticeable seasickness. If you are prone to motion sickness, consider booking a cabin on the mid-to-lower decks where movement is minimal. Other helpful tips include packing motion sickness medication, wearing anti-nausea wristbands, and getting fresh air on open decks. Note: Medication availability at the onboard medical center varies, so please check with your specific cruise line.
The vast majority of cruises automatically charge a fixed service fee to your daily cruise card account. For specific rates and collection methods, please refer to the information published by the cruise line after boarding. This fee typically covers basic gratuities for room service, dining staff, and more. Unless you wish to tip extra for exceptional service, additional cash tips are not required. We recommend consulting the cruise line's official guidelines when booking or after boarding.
Most international cruise lines use the US Dollar as their onboard currency. Upon boarding, you will link a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.) to your cruise card. The ship operates on a "cashless" system, meaning all onboard purchases (dining, drinks, shopping, service fees) are charged directly to your account and settled at the end of the trip. While you don't need large amounts of cash on board, we recommend bringing some small bills (USD or local currency) for minor expenses and tips at ports of call.
Usually, within an hour after leaving port, your phone will connect to a maritime roaming network, which carries extremely high call and data roaming charges (often exceeding US$ 5/minute). We strongly advise putting your phone in Airplane Mode and relying solely on the ship's Wi-Fi. Most ships offer paid Wi-Fi packages. Purchasing a voyage-long package is generally much more cost-effective than paying by the day. Some luxury cruise lines include basic Wi-Fi in your fare.
Every international cruise ship is equipped with a medical center staffed by at least one internationally certified doctor and nurse. They are fully capable of treating common illnesses (colds, gastroenteritis) and minor injuries. Please note: Onboard medical care is quite expensive, and the pharmacy has limited stock. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance with cruise medical coverage and packing an ample supply of any prescription or over-the-counter medications you regularly use.
After boarding, you must attend a mandatory safety drill (usually required to be completed within 24 hours). During the drill, you will hear the ship's dedicated alarm signal. Please immediately put on your life jacket (located in your cabin closet) and follow the evacuation route map on the back of your door to your designated assembly station. Please keep in mind: Do not use the elevators, follow the crew's instructions, and stay calm. Even if you have been on multiple cruises, you must participate in the drill on every new voyage. Please refer to the ship's on-site broadcasts and guidance for the specific signal and assembly location.
On the night before disembarkation, please follow the instructions issued by the cruise line to attach baggage tags to your checked luggage (excluding clothing, documents and valuables you will need the next morning) and place it in the designated area outside your stateroom door. Keep your passport, room key card and a small amount of carry-on belongings with you. On the day of disembarkation, please vacate your stateroom before the specified time and disembark in batches as notified. Do not linger in the stateroom. Finally, check all drawers, wardrobes and the safe. For the specific schedule and baggage requirements, please refer to the "Disembarkation Guide" provided by the cruise line.

"Carnival Splendor: The Ship That’s Like a Disco Fever Dream (With Unlimited Chocolate Melting Cake)

"Carnival Splendor: The Ship That’s Like a Disco Fever Dream (With Unlimited Chocolate Melting Cake)

#cruiseholiday Hold onto your glitter, because Carnival Splendor isn’t just a cruise—it’s a floating ‘70s revival where the pink zebra-striped decor is wild, the dessert menu never ends, and the party lasts all night. I just got back, and my inner diva is still recovering. Here’s the scoop: First Impressions: Stepping into the Atrium felt like walking into a disco ball explosion—pink glass elevators, neon lights, and the smell of Pinnacle Steakhouse’s sizzling filets 🥩 mixing with Swirls’ soft-serve vanilla. The vibe? “Saturday Night Fever meets all-you-can-eat.” The “This Ship is SO Extra” Moment: The Cloud 9 Spa’s thalassotherapy pool—a giant saltwater hot tub where I melted like the chocolate cake I’d later inhale. But the real hidden gem? El Mojito Bar’s spicy watermelon mojito (ask for extra chili salt!). 🌶️🍹 Foodie Glory: Chocolate Melting Cake ruined me for all other desserts (I ate it six nights straight). But the *24-hour* Pizza Pirate’s prosciutto pie? A drunken masterpiece. 🍕 My “Disco Never Dies” Itinerary: ⏰ 9 AM: Seaday Brunch with maple bacon pancakes (because balance). ⏰ 12 PM: Twister Waterslide (screamed like I was on American Idol). ⏰ 4 PM: Serenity Deck nap (with a Miami Vice in hand). ⏰ 8 PM: Pink Zebra Lounge karaoke (Dancing Queen = mandatory). ⏰ 12 AM: Robusto Bar’s cigar lounge (felt dangerously fancy). Pro Tip: Book the steakhouse on embarkation day—it’s half-price! Also, Lido Deck’s midnight nachos are a sinful must. 🌮 Final Verdict: 20/10, left sugar-drunk, slightly hoarse, and already planning my next glitter-filled escape. Who’s ready to splurge on Splendor? 💃

🇭🇰Pilot Star・The vitality of the sea

I sincerely want to share with you that taking a cruise is really a must-try experience because it is too good to shoot and too much fun! I've been on two cruises, and every time I post or feed, my friends go crazy and ask, "Is the cruise awesome? Is it fun?" And I always have one answer – cool! 🎉 Every morning when you open the curtains, you will see an endless sea🌊, the sky and the sea are connected by a line. That healing feeling can never be found in the city. You will feel completely relieved of the pressure. My mood immediately relaxed, as if even breathing was much fresher. In addition to the scenery, life on a cruise is exciting: 🍽️ Food, basically from morning to night, the restaurant has a lot of choice, Western food, Chinese food, buffet, as well as desserts and cocktails, can completely satisfy your taste buds. 🎶 For entertainment, there will be performances, concerts, dance shows, and even a casino at night. 🏊 For leisure, you can take a dip in the pool, sunbathe on the deck, or relax at the spa. Most importantly, whether you like to take pictures or enjoy a leisurely vacation, a cruise is sure to satisfy you. Many photos I took at random, straight out without filter, has been beautiful to be 📷 Even just for these few photos, the cruise is worth the trip! What’s more, you can still see the sea and eat while feeling the vitality and romance of the sea. This is an experience that no other mode of travel can match at all. ✨ So, if you want a truly relaxing and fulfilling journey, Look no further – cruises are a must-try! #CruiseFirstExperience #CruiseTravel #CruiseVacation #HongKongCruise #RitzCruise #RitzCruiseLeadingStar #Kai Tak Cruise Terminal #Seaview #LifePhotos
