The cruise ship boasts luxurious facilities, including a theater, cinema, swimming pool, jacuzzi, reading room, entertainment venue, shopping mall, and bars. Dining options are plentiful; the buffet on deck 14 offers a wide variety of cuisines with ample supply for extended periods, while the Western restaurants on decks 3 and 4 serve excellent Western-style meals with superb food and service. While the rooms aren't particularly large, they are compact, well-designed, and offer ample storage space, making them very practical. A special commendation goes to all the staff for their exceptional warmth and friendliness. However, there were some discrepancies between the cabin standards and service fees described in the Ctrip booking and the actual experience.

First, the pros: this Norwegian Cruise Line ship was slightly newer, the food was relatively better, the three ports of call were quite interesting, the airport shuttle service was good, and the Black driver who took us to the airport was particularly responsible. The entertainment was rather monotonous; the shows in the theaters and all the bars were almost entirely rock music, unchanging, and we barely saw any performances after a week.

A very old-school, traditional cruise ship, the entire journey is at sea. There's no Chinese-speaking service, but the staff are all incredibly nice. However, because of its classic style, the entertainment options might not be as plentiful for younger people, but they are of very high quality. The only downside is that the food on board is very British.

New York Must-see Attractions

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, known as The Met, is located at 1000 Fifth Avenue, along Museum Mile on the eastern edge of Central Park, in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. It’s a must-visit NYC attraction with over two million works of art spanning 5,000 years, from ancient Egyptian artifacts to modern masterpieces. With highlights like the American Wing, the Temple of Dendur, and rotating shows, it’s an essential stop to dive into art, history, and culture in one of the world’s greatest museums. It’s open Thursday through Tuesday, but closed on Wednesdays. Best visited weekday mornings to avoid crowds. Purchase tickets online and consider a guided highlights tour for first-time visitors. The rooftop garden (open May-October) offers stunning Central Park views and rotating art installations.

New York Food Guide

A proper New York slice is a precise art: thin, foldable, with a perfect ratio of tangy sauce to cheese. The slice-folding technique isn't just tradition – it's a practical necessity developed by New Yorkers eating on the go. Never use a knife and fork (unless you want locals to roll their eyes), and don't be afraid of the oil – a good slice should require a slight lean forward, known as the "New York fold." For the quintessential New York slice experience, head to Joe's Pizza in Greenwich Village, where the recipe hasn't changed since 1975, or brave the lines at Lombardi's, America's first pizzeria.

Spring (May-June): Mild weather, outdoor events Fall (September-November): Perfect weather, lots of cultural events December: Holiday decorations and activities, shopping Value Season (January-April) - Hotel rates lower - Shorter attraction lines - Restaurant Week occurs - Broadway Week discounts

New York Travel Tips

1. Book Shows and Museums Smart Broadway runs Tuesday to Sunday—most shows dim on Mondays—so plan around that, booking popular performances weeks ahead since weekends vanish fast. Hit TKTS booths in Times Square or Lincoln Center for same-day discounted tickets if you’re last-minute. Museums often offer free or pay-what-you-wish days—check schedules to dodge full admission costs. 2. Move Like a Local New York thrives on speedstride with purpose, prep your MetroCard before the turnstile, and step aside to check maps or phones. Respect personal space on subways—no bumping or staring—or expect a sharp glance; it’s the unspoken city code for smooth sailing.  3. Tip Generously with Precision Tipping’s non-negotiable here—servers, bartenders, and drivers count on it. Aim for 18-20% at restaurants (15% minimum), $1-2 per drink at bars ($2-3 for complex cocktails), 15-20% for taxis, and $1-2 per bag for hotel porters. Check bills for auto-added gratuity with groups of 6 or more—don’t double-tip by mistake.   4. Dodge Street Scams Tourist zones—like near the big tower or ferry docks—teem with hustlers pushing fake tickets or “free” photo ops with costumed characters who’ll demand cash after. Stick to crossbody bags, keep valuables locked down, and brush off strangers with a firm “no thanks”—NYC’s safe if you stay sharp.  5. Ride the Subway Savvy Subways outpace cabs in rush hours—skip empty cars if others are packed, as they might stink or be broken. For ride-shares, double-check driver and car details before hopping in; it’s the fastest way to glide through the grid when traffic snarls.  6. Prep for Weather Swings NYC’s skies flip fast—summer’s muggy heat meets icy indoor AC, while winter’s chill bites harder between skyscrapers. Pack a light layer year-round and a scarf or hat when it’s cold; locals roll with the shifts, and you’ll dodge the shock too.  7. Carry Cash for Small Spots Big city or not, plenty of bodegas and eateries go cash-only or set card minimums—stash some bills for quick buys. International cards might flop at random ATMs—hit major banks instead; chip-less cards or big spends could need ID at some joints too.  8. Snap Photos with Care Outdoor icons and streets are fair game for pics, but indoor spots like museums often ban flash or restrict special exhibits—check signs. Ask street performers or strangers before framing them in your shot; it’s courtesy that keeps the vibe right.  9. Abide by Drinking & Smoking Rules No drinking booze in parks, on beaches, or streets unless it’s a licensed bash—cops don’t play. Smoking’s out in public zones like plazas and parks, plus near building doors—step away or face a fine; it’s the city’s tight leash on open spaces.  10. Time Your Dining Right Hot eateries skip reservations, with peak dinner hours packing long lines—go early or late to slip in easier. Upscale spots might turn away sneakers or shorts, and big groups need a heads-up call for special rules or added tips; plan it to eat like a pro.  11. Show Your Passport for a Discount Flash your passport at big stores as an international visitor for tax breaks or discounts—worth the ask. Sunday hours can shrink, and sample sales enforce bag or try-on limits—check times and rules ahead to snag the best deals.  12. Know Your Help Lines Stash NYC311 for city help and nearby hospital numbers in your phone—emergencies hit fast. 24-hour pharmacies stock basics like meds or bandages, and cops in tourist zones often point you the right way if you’re lost—just ask.  13. Dodge Gridlock Traps Traffic jams choke NYC—skip cabs for subways or buses in peak hours, and watch for congestion pricing zones downtown that ding drivers extra. Walk or bike if it’s close; the city’s grid flows better when you ditch the wheels.

New York Useful Guide

English is the primary language, but NYC is highly multilingual. Essential NYC terminology: The Train - Subway Uptown/Downtown - Northbound/Southbound Crosstown -  East-West travel The City - Manhattan specifically Outer Boroughs - Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island Midtown - 34th-59th Streets Bodega - Corner store/deli Regular coffee - Coffee with milk and sugar

Frequently Asked Questions

You must carry a passport with an expiration date that meets the destination's requirements (usually valid for at least 6 months after the cruise ends; please refer to the actual boarding information), your cruise boarding pass (e-ticket or printed copy), and any visas required by all countries/regions on your itinerary. Depending on your nationality, other identification documents (such as a residence card or national ID card) may also be required. Please confirm the final requirements with the relevant embassies or consulates and the cruise line before departure.
Modern large cruise ships are equipped with advanced stabilizers and are routed to avoid rough seas, meaning most passengers never experience noticeable seasickness. If you are prone to motion sickness, consider booking a cabin on the mid-to-lower decks where movement is minimal. Other helpful tips include packing motion sickness medication, wearing anti-nausea wristbands, and getting fresh air on open decks. Note: Medication availability at the onboard medical center varies, so please check with your specific cruise line.
The vast majority of cruises automatically charge a fixed service fee to your daily cruise card account. For specific rates and collection methods, please refer to the information published by the cruise line after boarding. This fee typically covers basic gratuities for room service, dining staff, and more. Unless you wish to tip extra for exceptional service, additional cash tips are not required. We recommend consulting the cruise line's official guidelines when booking or after boarding.
Most international cruise lines use the US Dollar as their onboard currency. Upon boarding, you will link a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.) to your cruise card. The ship operates on a "cashless" system, meaning all onboard purchases (dining, drinks, shopping, service fees) are charged directly to your account and settled at the end of the trip. While you don't need large amounts of cash on board, we recommend bringing some small bills (USD or local currency) for minor expenses and tips at ports of call.
Usually, within an hour after leaving port, your phone will connect to a maritime roaming network, which carries extremely high call and data roaming charges (often exceeding US$ 5/minute). We strongly advise putting your phone in Airplane Mode and relying solely on the ship's Wi-Fi. Most ships offer paid Wi-Fi packages. Purchasing a voyage-long package is generally much more cost-effective than paying by the day. Some luxury cruise lines include basic Wi-Fi in your fare.
Every international cruise ship is equipped with a medical center staffed by at least one internationally certified doctor and nurse. They are fully capable of treating common illnesses (colds, gastroenteritis) and minor injuries. Please note: Onboard medical care is quite expensive, and the pharmacy has limited stock. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance with cruise medical coverage and packing an ample supply of any prescription or over-the-counter medications you regularly use.
After boarding, you must attend a mandatory safety drill (usually required to be completed within 24 hours). During the drill, you will hear the ship's dedicated alarm signal. Please immediately put on your life jacket (located in your cabin closet) and follow the evacuation route map on the back of your door to your designated assembly station. Please keep in mind: Do not use the elevators, follow the crew's instructions, and stay calm. Even if you have been on multiple cruises, you must participate in the drill on every new voyage. Please refer to the ship's on-site broadcasts and guidance for the specific signal and assembly location.
On the night before disembarkation, please follow the instructions issued by the cruise line to attach baggage tags to your checked luggage (excluding clothing, documents and valuables you will need the next morning) and place it in the designated area outside your stateroom door. Keep your passport, room key card and a small amount of carry-on belongings with you. On the day of disembarkation, please vacate your stateroom before the specified time and disembark in batches as notified. Do not linger in the stateroom. Finally, check all drawers, wardrobes and the safe. For the specific schedule and baggage requirements, please refer to the "Disembarkation Guide" provided by the cruise line.

Onboard the Disney Cruise Line: A Magical Voyage at Sea

Onboard the Disney Cruise Line: A Magical Voyage at Sea

#cruiseholiday Sailing with Disney Cruise Line was a dream come true! From the moment we stepped onboard, the ship was bursting with magic—character meet-and-greets, themed dinners, and Broadway-style shows that wowed us every night. The staterooms were comfortable and thoughtfully designed, and the service was truly exceptional. I loved the adults-only areas for some quiet time, while the kids were completely entertained at the clubs. Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island, was paradise with crystal-clear water and fun activities for all ages. Whether you're a Disney fan or just love relaxing, this cruise is pure joy from start to finish. Can’t wait to go again!

Dear friends, I just discovered an exclusive itinerary and I have to be the first to tell you!

Dear friends, I just discovered an exclusive itinerary and I have to be the first to tell you!

The Ritz-Carlton’s ultra-luxury yacht "Luminara" will sail directly from Hong Kong to Tokyo in March 2026, for 13 days and 12 nights. This is not an ordinary cruise ship; it’s a moving palace carrying only a few hundred guests. Imagine this: we board at sunrise in Victoria Harbour, staying in suites with panoramic terraces, with a private butler who has already prepared champagne. Every day, you wake up by the infinity pool to see the sea, and the butler even remembers how you like your coffee. It will take us to hidden islands that ordinary travelers can’t reach, hosting champagne parties on beaches open only to guests. The ship’s Michelin-starred chef’s restaurant changes its menu daily depending on the port. The best part is the spa facing the sea—this is the true meaning of "where the sea meets the sky." I’m so excited. It’s like a flowing feast—quiet, private, and every moment carefully attended to. In the spring of 2026, let’s completely indulge our time between the sea and the sky.

🇸🇬 Six Days, Five Nights Family Cruise Travel Guide

Honestly, this has been the most worry-free trip I’ve ever taken with kids. No need to do detailed research, no language barriers to worry about, no huge expenses, and still plenty of food and fun. Cruises are truly an ideal way to travel abroad with kids for the first time! Everyone can enjoy the joy of traveling on board. We started our journey with the Genting Dream cruise, which offers full one-stop service. Everything you need for food and fun is right there—you don’t need to plan anything in advance. 😎 Besides the water park, there are also free activities such as the Little Explorers kids’ club, mini golf, basketball courts, rock climbing, indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzis, and more. Plus, you can enjoy a super🔥 Korean-style K-pop show and endless tropical fruit parties. On the cruise, every day is filled with music, food, and stunning views! #gentingdream #cruise #singaporecrusie #cruisefun #familytrip #travel #cruiselife

#springtravel Jinhae NFRDI Environment Eco-Park "For a break from the crowds, head to the Eco-Park near Yeojwacheon. In 2026, it’s a quiet sanctuary of ponds, weeping willows, and cherry trees. The reflections of the pink blossoms in the still water are beautiful. It’s where the locals go to have a quiet picnic. It’s only a 5-minute walk from the main stream but feels like a different world. It’s my favorite 'hidden' spot in the city."

Super Galaxy Cruise.

Super Galaxy Cruise.

I came to Bangkok for a date with my partner this time and booked a free experience tour. 🌌Super Galaxy Cruise🛳️ The entire experience was both romantic and packed with activities—it was such a steal! We spent the evening strolling around ICONSIAM and enjoying the river breeze before boarding at around 8:00 PM. We were blown away as soon as we stepped on board. The Super Galaxy Cruise is incredibly spacious, and the galaxy-themed lighting design is stylish with a futuristic vibe—perfect for photos! We enjoyed the 360-degree night view of the Chao Phraya River while feeling the cool breeze. Along the way, we passed the glowing Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, and the Rama VIII Bridge. Those landmarks, illuminated against the night sky, were breathtakingly beautiful. Watching them with my partner was so romantic. The buffet dinner depends on personal taste, but the seafood was fresh. The grilled giant prawns and salmon sashimi were delicious, and there were unlimited drinks. A live band played great music, and there were wonderful traditional Thai dances and cabaret shows in between. The atmosphere throughout the two-and-a-half-hour cruise was fantastic—there was never a dull moment! With stunning views, delicious food, and a wonderful atmosphere, it was truly an unforgettable romantic night for two.

"Carnival Splendor: The Ship That’s Like a Disco Fever Dream (With Unlimited Chocolate Melting Cake)

#cruiseholiday Hold onto your glitter, because Carnival Splendor isn’t just a cruise—it’s a floating ‘70s revival where the pink zebra-striped decor is wild, the dessert menu never ends, and the party lasts all night. I just got back, and my inner diva is still recovering. Here’s the scoop: First Impressions: Stepping into the Atrium felt like walking into a disco ball explosion—pink glass elevators, neon lights, and the smell of Pinnacle Steakhouse’s sizzling filets 🥩 mixing with Swirls’ soft-serve vanilla. The vibe? “Saturday Night Fever meets all-you-can-eat.” The “This Ship is SO Extra” Moment: The Cloud 9 Spa’s thalassotherapy pool—a giant saltwater hot tub where I melted like the chocolate cake I’d later inhale. But the real hidden gem? El Mojito Bar’s spicy watermelon mojito (ask for extra chili salt!). 🌶️🍹 Foodie Glory: Chocolate Melting Cake ruined me for all other desserts (I ate it six nights straight). But the *24-hour* Pizza Pirate’s prosciutto pie? A drunken masterpiece. 🍕 My “Disco Never Dies” Itinerary: ⏰ 9 AM: Seaday Brunch with maple bacon pancakes (because balance). ⏰ 12 PM: Twister Waterslide (screamed like I was on American Idol). ⏰ 4 PM: Serenity Deck nap (with a Miami Vice in hand). ⏰ 8 PM: Pink Zebra Lounge karaoke (Dancing Queen = mandatory). ⏰ 12 AM: Robusto Bar’s cigar lounge (felt dangerously fancy). Pro Tip: Book the steakhouse on embarkation day—it’s half-price! Also, Lido Deck’s midnight nachos are a sinful must. 🌮 Final Verdict: 20/10, left sugar-drunk, slightly hoarse, and already planning my next glitter-filled escape. Who’s ready to splurge on Splendor? 💃
