Cruise travel is so convenient, with plenty of options for food and accommodation, and a wide selection of attractions. For seniors, the Mediterranean cruise on the Celebrity Season 2 was highly praised.

A truly wonderful MSC Mediterranean cruise! Sailing along the azure Mediterranean, we encountered Naples in Italy, the charming island of Sicily, the quaint and captivating Malta, the vibrant and energetic Barcelona in Spain, the romantic and laid-back Marseille in France, and the picturesque Lugano in Switzerland. Each city had its own unique charm, with azure seas and skies, old streets and historical sites. We stopped frequently to explore, taking in countless sights and immersing ourselves in the unique romance of the Mediterranean. The onboard experience far exceeded our expectations! The dining options were incredibly diverse, offering a wide array of Chinese and Western cuisine, seafood, and desserts—a true culinary feast awaited. Daily entertainment was abundant, with performances, parties, and various leisure activities, ensuring non-stop fun from morning till night. Our balcony cabin was an exceptional experience; the room was clean and comfortable, and opening the balcony revealed a direct view of the boundless sea. The gentle sea breeze and the sunrise and sunset created a truly relaxing and therapeutic experience. The only drawback was the unsatisfactory communication with the partner travel agency, Shanghai Airlines, regarding visa processing and flight bookings. They didn't consider the customer's perspective, communication was not smooth, and they created many unnecessary problems for the trip. Putting aside the unpleasant initial communication, the cruise itself and the entire itinerary were stunning, with beautiful scenery and unforgettable memories. If I were to come again, I would still choose MSC!

This was my first cruise experience. Although it was an overseas cruise and the ship was over 10 years old, it was very well maintained, with thorough cleaning throughout and no unsanitary corners in the cabin. The staff were also very welcoming. Both the main restaurant and the buffet were excellent; the former served fast and high-quality food, while the latter replenished food promptly, and I never saw an empty plate. The performances at the Kua Kua Theater were diverse, including musicals, acrobatics, stand-up comedy, and dance, and the performers were highly skilled. Overall, it's perfect for those who want a "lazy" trip, as it perfectly solved both the food and accommodation issues. The itinerary included almost daily shore excursions (only one sea day), allowing us to visit the capitals of several key Baltic states. The only drawback was the limited time at each port of call, making it less immersive for exploring different countries and major cities. Therefore, this type of cruise is ideal for those looking to visit numerous countries and major cities.

The table service at the Black Cab restaurant, handled by Vinecent, was poor. Two male servers (one wearing glasses) constantly stared at passengers while they ate, making us feel uncomfortable. They also gossiped about passengers behind their backs. During dinner on July 27th, they spoke about us behind our backs in what sounded like their native language, and then relayed this to the male servers at other tables, causing them to observe us closely. We felt deeply insulted and treated differently. On July 29th, my son wanted his steak cooked better and said "Excuse me." His voice was quite childish, and the male server wearing glasses imitated my child in a female voice, making exaggerated gestures, which was extremely insulting and disrespectful to passengers. This attracted the attention of other diners, and we felt extremely embarrassed. Only the female servers in this area provided relatively good service, but one time she served the wrong dessert; we ordered a fresh fruit plate, but she served us a mousse cake. We filed a formal complaint with the cruise company.

The food and beverage service was satisfactory, and the cabin cleaning service, which was done two or three times a day, was also good. However, other aspects, such as the attitude of the front desk staff and travel advisors, were just average, and the entertainment options were relatively limited.

MSC Cruises offers great value for money, and the food was excellent, especially the watermelon—sweet, juicy, and loved by the whole family. You could choose the main dining room or the buffet; we even ate at the main restaurant first and then went to the buffet, and everyone gained weight! The only slight regret was that Spain and Italy were too hot, so we didn't disembark in Ibiza. In Rome, we visited the Grand Lisboa Museum and joined an English-language guided tour, which allowed us to use a fast track from the Grand Lisboa Museum to St. Peter's Basilica. Everyone got a good rest on the cruise, and after disembarking, we continued our Paris and London trip. Almost all communication on the cruise was in English, so we didn't participate in many of the onboard entertainment activities. Seeing most people dressed in white on White Night was a truly wonderful atmosphere. Our main goal was to rest and relax on the cruise, so good food and sleep were our primary objectives, and we were very satisfied with the cruise.

Rome Transportation

Rome is primarily served by two airports, with efficient public transportation, taxis, and ride-sharing services to the city center, as well as international trains and buses arriving at central stations. By Air: Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport (FCO),  also known as Fiumicino (FCO), about 30 km (18 miles) southwest of the city, is the main international hub.  To the City: - Leonardo Express train: This is the fastest and most reliable option, taking you directly to Roma Termini, the main train station. Follow signs from arrivals in Terminal 3 to the train station (5-minute walk). Direct non-stop service to Termini Station (32 min), running every 15 min from 5:38 AM to 00:23 AM. Tickets: approximately €14. Available to purchase at machines (English available), online via the Trenitalia app, or at counters (cash/card/mobile pay). - FL1 regional train: A more affordable but slower train option connects Fiumicino Airport to various stations in Rome, including Trastevere, Ostiense, and Tiburtina. However, this train does not stop at Termini. The journey takes approximately 40 to 50 minutes and costs around €8. Trains run every 15 minutes from 5:57 AM to 11:32 PM. Tickets can be purchased at machines or through an app. You can connect to the metro or bus for access to the city center. - Bus shuttle: Several companies provide direct and budget-friendly bus transfers to Roma Termini. Terravision and SIT Shuttle operate buses from stands outside Terminal 3 to Termini Station. The journey takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes and tickets cost around €11. Buses run every 30 to 60 minutes from 8:30 AM to 12:30 AM. Tickets can be purchased online, on board, or at kiosks (payment can be made by cash or card). - Taxi: Fixed rate €50 to the city center (within Aurelian Walls, 40 min), from ranks outside terminals; 24/7, up to 4 passengers, includes luggage. Pay cash/card at the end; official white taxis only. - Ride-Shares: Uber or Bolt from designated areas near Terminal 3 parking; €35-55 to the center (40 min), book via app (data required), cashless pay. Ciampino (G.B. Pastine International Airport - CIA) is the smaller and closer of the two airports, located approximately 15 km (9 miles) southeast of central Rome. It is primarily used by low-cost airlines like Ryanair and Wizz Air. To the City: - Shuttle Bus: Terravision or SIT Shuttle from bus stands outside arrivals to Termini Station (40 min, €6), every 30-60 min from 8:30 AM to 12:30 AM. Tickets can be purchased online or onboard (cash/card). - Ciampino Airlink (Bus + Train): TRAL bus from outside arrivals to Ciampino train station (5 min, €1.20), then regional train to Termini (15 min, €1.50), every 20-30 min from 6 AM to 10 PM. Total €2.70; tickets from machines (cash/card) or app. - Taxis: Fixed rate €30 to the city center (30 min), from ranks outside arrivals; 24/7, up to 4 passengers. - Ride-Shares: Bolt or Uber from the parking area (short walk from arrivals); €25-40 to the center (30 min), book via app. By Train: Travelers can easily get to Rome by train, as it is well-connected to the rest of Italy and Europe via an efficient and reliable rail network. Two main operators, Trenitalia and Italo, offer frequent high-speed services, while regional trains connect smaller towns. Roma Termini: The main and busiest station, located right in the city center. It is the best arrival point for easy access to central Rome and is a major hub for metro and bus connections. Roma Tiburtina:  Rome's second-largest station, located in the northeastern part of the city. Many high-speed services stop here before reaching Termini, and it is a good option if your accommodation is in the area, as it is generally less crowded. Roma Ostiense: A historic station south of the city center, which primarily serves regional lines. By Bus: Bus travel is a popular and economical option for reaching Rome from other parts of Italy and Europe. Popular international and Italian operators serving Rome include FlixBus, MarinoBus, and Itabus.  Tiburtina Station: Most international and long-distance buses arrive at the Tiburtina Bus Station, which is adjacent to the Roma Tiburtina train and metro station.

Rome Where to Stay

Rome is a city steeped in history and culture, offering a diverse array of accommodation options across its many distinct neighborhoods. Visitors can choose from areas rich in ancient history, bustling with nightlife, or offering a more tranquil, residential atmosphere.

Rome Best Time to Visit

April to June and September to October feature mild weather, blooming parks, fall foliage, festivals, and fewer crowds. August is typically hot and busy with events, while December showcases Christmas markets. Spring (April–June): 15°C–25°C (59°F–77°F), sunny/rainy; blooming Villa Borghese. Festivals like Liberation Day (April 25) tend to lower crowds at the Colosseum.   Summer (June–August): 20°C–35°C (68°F–95°F), hot and humid; long days for fountains. Peak for Notte Bianca; crowds/prices up 20-30%, book ahead.   Autumn (September–November): 15°C–25°C (59°F–77°F), clear; golden leaves. Fewer tourists, events like Romaeuropa Festival, great for the Vatican.   Winter (December–February): 5°C–15°C (41°F–59°F), rainy, short days. Christmas markets at Piazza Navona; lower prices.

Rome Travel Tips

1. Book Vatican Museums and Colosseum in Advance: The Colosseum require advance reservations. Booking tickets online ensures faster access and avoids long lines. During peak seasons, tickets can sell out quickly, so booking ahead guarantees entry and a smoother experience. 2. Respect Dress Codes in Churches: Many churches in Rome, require visitors to dress modestly. Shoulders and knees must be covered. Men should remove hats, while women can keep theirs on. Carry a light scarf or shawl for quick coverage. Jeans and sandals are acceptable. 3. Respect Siesta Hours: Many small shops and businesses close for a few hours in the afternoon. Plan your shopping and errands accordingly. 4. Beware of Pickpockets: Pickpocketing is common in crowded tourist areas. Keep your belongings secure and be vigilant, especially in places like Termini Station and popular attractions. Use a money belt, avoid back pockets, and always zip up your bags. Be cautious of distraction techniques like commotions or people asking for help. Stay aware of your surroundings to enjoy a safe trip. 5. Avoid Photography in Churches: Many churches in Rome prohibit photography inside to preserve the sanctity of the space. Always check for signs and respect these rules. Flash photography and tripods are generally not allowed, and it's best to avoid taking photos during services. 6. Photography in Museums: Most museums in Rome allow non-flash photography, but some strictly prohibit it. Tripods, selfie sticks, and professional equipment are generally not allowed. Always check the rules before taking photos.

Rome Useful Guide

Italian is the primary language.  English is widely spoken in tourist areas, hotels, restaurants, shops, and transport due to Rome's international visitors. It's easy to navigate using English alone, with most signs and menus bilingual. Although it's less common in residential outskirts, it's sufficient for travelers.

Frequently Asked Questions

You must carry a passport with an expiration date that meets the destination's requirements (usually valid for at least 6 months after the cruise ends; please refer to the actual boarding information), your cruise boarding pass (e-ticket or printed copy), and any visas required by all countries/regions on your itinerary. Depending on your nationality, other identification documents (such as a residence card or national ID card) may also be required. Please confirm the final requirements with the relevant embassies or consulates and the cruise line before departure.
Modern large cruise ships are equipped with advanced stabilizers and are routed to avoid rough seas, meaning most passengers never experience noticeable seasickness. If you are prone to motion sickness, consider booking a cabin on the mid-to-lower decks where movement is minimal. Other helpful tips include packing motion sickness medication, wearing anti-nausea wristbands, and getting fresh air on open decks. Note: Medication availability at the onboard medical center varies, so please check with your specific cruise line.
The vast majority of cruises automatically charge a fixed service fee to your daily cruise card account. For specific rates and collection methods, please refer to the information published by the cruise line after boarding. This fee typically covers basic gratuities for room service, dining staff, and more. Unless you wish to tip extra for exceptional service, additional cash tips are not required. We recommend consulting the cruise line's official guidelines when booking or after boarding.
Most international cruise lines use the US Dollar as their onboard currency. Upon boarding, you will link a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.) to your cruise card. The ship operates on a "cashless" system, meaning all onboard purchases (dining, drinks, shopping, service fees) are charged directly to your account and settled at the end of the trip. While you don't need large amounts of cash on board, we recommend bringing some small bills (USD or local currency) for minor expenses and tips at ports of call.
Usually, within an hour after leaving port, your phone will connect to a maritime roaming network, which carries extremely high call and data roaming charges (often exceeding US$ 5/minute). We strongly advise putting your phone in Airplane Mode and relying solely on the ship's Wi-Fi. Most ships offer paid Wi-Fi packages. Purchasing a voyage-long package is generally much more cost-effective than paying by the day. Some luxury cruise lines include basic Wi-Fi in your fare.
Every international cruise ship is equipped with a medical center staffed by at least one internationally certified doctor and nurse. They are fully capable of treating common illnesses (colds, gastroenteritis) and minor injuries. Please note: Onboard medical care is quite expensive, and the pharmacy has limited stock. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance with cruise medical coverage and packing an ample supply of any prescription or over-the-counter medications you regularly use.
After boarding, you must attend a mandatory safety drill (usually required to be completed within 24 hours). During the drill, you will hear the ship's dedicated alarm signal. Please immediately put on your life jacket (located in your cabin closet) and follow the evacuation route map on the back of your door to your designated assembly station. Please keep in mind: Do not use the elevators, follow the crew's instructions, and stay calm. Even if you have been on multiple cruises, you must participate in the drill on every new voyage. Please refer to the ship's on-site broadcasts and guidance for the specific signal and assembly location.
On the night before disembarkation, please follow the instructions issued by the cruise line to attach baggage tags to your checked luggage (excluding clothing, documents and valuables you will need the next morning) and place it in the designated area outside your stateroom door. Keep your passport, room key card and a small amount of carry-on belongings with you. On the day of disembarkation, please vacate your stateroom before the specified time and disembark in batches as notified. Do not linger in the stateroom. Finally, check all drawers, wardrobes and the safe. For the specific schedule and baggage requirements, please refer to the "Disembarkation Guide" provided by the cruise line.

Onboard the Disney Cruise Line: A Magical Voyage at Sea

Onboard the Disney Cruise Line: A Magical Voyage at Sea

#cruiseholiday Sailing with Disney Cruise Line was a dream come true! From the moment we stepped onboard, the ship was bursting with magic—character meet-and-greets, themed dinners, and Broadway-style shows that wowed us every night. The staterooms were comfortable and thoughtfully designed, and the service was truly exceptional. I loved the adults-only areas for some quiet time, while the kids were completely entertained at the clubs. Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island, was paradise with crystal-clear water and fun activities for all ages. Whether you're a Disney fan or just love relaxing, this cruise is pure joy from start to finish. Can’t wait to go again!

Dear friends, I just discovered an exclusive itinerary and I have to be the first to tell you!

Dear friends, I just discovered an exclusive itinerary and I have to be the first to tell you!

The Ritz-Carlton’s ultra-luxury yacht "Luminara" will sail directly from Hong Kong to Tokyo in March 2026, for 13 days and 12 nights. This is not an ordinary cruise ship; it’s a moving palace carrying only a few hundred guests. Imagine this: we board at sunrise in Victoria Harbour, staying in suites with panoramic terraces, with a private butler who has already prepared champagne. Every day, you wake up by the infinity pool to see the sea, and the butler even remembers how you like your coffee. It will take us to hidden islands that ordinary travelers can’t reach, hosting champagne parties on beaches open only to guests. The ship’s Michelin-starred chef’s restaurant changes its menu daily depending on the port. The best part is the spa facing the sea—this is the true meaning of "where the sea meets the sky." I’m so excited. It’s like a flowing feast—quiet, private, and every moment carefully attended to. In the spring of 2026, let’s completely indulge our time between the sea and the sky.

🇸🇬 Six Days, Five Nights Family Cruise Travel Guide

Honestly, this has been the most worry-free trip I’ve ever taken with kids. No need to do detailed research, no language barriers to worry about, no huge expenses, and still plenty of food and fun. Cruises are truly an ideal way to travel abroad with kids for the first time! Everyone can enjoy the joy of traveling on board. We started our journey with the Genting Dream cruise, which offers full one-stop service. Everything you need for food and fun is right there—you don’t need to plan anything in advance. 😎 Besides the water park, there are also free activities such as the Little Explorers kids’ club, mini golf, basketball courts, rock climbing, indoor and outdoor pools, jacuzzis, and more. Plus, you can enjoy a super🔥 Korean-style K-pop show and endless tropical fruit parties. On the cruise, every day is filled with music, food, and stunning views! #gentingdream #cruise #singaporecrusie #cruisefun #familytrip #travel #cruiselife

#springtravel Jinhae NFRDI Environment Eco-Park "For a break from the crowds, head to the Eco-Park near Yeojwacheon. In 2026, it’s a quiet sanctuary of ponds, weeping willows, and cherry trees. The reflections of the pink blossoms in the still water are beautiful. It’s where the locals go to have a quiet picnic. It’s only a 5-minute walk from the main stream but feels like a different world. It’s my favorite 'hidden' spot in the city."

Super Galaxy Cruise.

Super Galaxy Cruise.

I came to Bangkok for a date with my partner this time and booked a free experience tour. 🌌Super Galaxy Cruise🛳️ The entire experience was both romantic and packed with activities—it was such a steal! We spent the evening strolling around ICONSIAM and enjoying the river breeze before boarding at around 8:00 PM. We were blown away as soon as we stepped on board. The Super Galaxy Cruise is incredibly spacious, and the galaxy-themed lighting design is stylish with a futuristic vibe—perfect for photos! We enjoyed the 360-degree night view of the Chao Phraya River while feeling the cool breeze. Along the way, we passed the glowing Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, and the Rama VIII Bridge. Those landmarks, illuminated against the night sky, were breathtakingly beautiful. Watching them with my partner was so romantic. The buffet dinner depends on personal taste, but the seafood was fresh. The grilled giant prawns and salmon sashimi were delicious, and there were unlimited drinks. A live band played great music, and there were wonderful traditional Thai dances and cabaret shows in between. The atmosphere throughout the two-and-a-half-hour cruise was fantastic—there was never a dull moment! With stunning views, delicious food, and a wonderful atmosphere, it was truly an unforgettable romantic night for two.

"Carnival Splendor: The Ship That’s Like a Disco Fever Dream (With Unlimited Chocolate Melting Cake)

#cruiseholiday Hold onto your glitter, because Carnival Splendor isn’t just a cruise—it’s a floating ‘70s revival where the pink zebra-striped decor is wild, the dessert menu never ends, and the party lasts all night. I just got back, and my inner diva is still recovering. Here’s the scoop: First Impressions: Stepping into the Atrium felt like walking into a disco ball explosion—pink glass elevators, neon lights, and the smell of Pinnacle Steakhouse’s sizzling filets 🥩 mixing with Swirls’ soft-serve vanilla. The vibe? “Saturday Night Fever meets all-you-can-eat.” The “This Ship is SO Extra” Moment: The Cloud 9 Spa’s thalassotherapy pool—a giant saltwater hot tub where I melted like the chocolate cake I’d later inhale. But the real hidden gem? El Mojito Bar’s spicy watermelon mojito (ask for extra chili salt!). 🌶️🍹 Foodie Glory: Chocolate Melting Cake ruined me for all other desserts (I ate it six nights straight). But the *24-hour* Pizza Pirate’s prosciutto pie? A drunken masterpiece. 🍕 My “Disco Never Dies” Itinerary: ⏰ 9 AM: Seaday Brunch with maple bacon pancakes (because balance). ⏰ 12 PM: Twister Waterslide (screamed like I was on American Idol). ⏰ 4 PM: Serenity Deck nap (with a Miami Vice in hand). ⏰ 8 PM: Pink Zebra Lounge karaoke (Dancing Queen = mandatory). ⏰ 12 AM: Robusto Bar’s cigar lounge (felt dangerously fancy). Pro Tip: Book the steakhouse on embarkation day—it’s half-price! Also, Lido Deck’s midnight nachos are a sinful must. 🌮 Final Verdict: 20/10, left sugar-drunk, slightly hoarse, and already planning my next glitter-filled escape. Who’s ready to splurge on Splendor? 💃
