The 11th Annual Kirste 5 Memorial Race 2024 will take place in Rayleigh, Essex, at the Race Village on Grove Woods and Playing Fields. The event is set to be superb, uplifting, and inspirational, just as Kirste would have wanted. Due to the nature of the course, race entries will be limited, but entries will be accepted on the day if the race is not full. The race will be conducted under UKA Rules and holds a UKA Race Licence for 2024. In addition to the main race, there will also be a 1 mile Family Run open to all participants. All finishers will receive a commemorative medal. Race numbers can be collected on the morning of the race. To accommodate the increase in walkers, a special start time has been arranged for those wishing to walk the race. This will commence at 10:10am, directly following the Family Run start at 10am, and before the main run starts at 10:30am. The event aims to support two important causes, with all profits being donated equally between Macmillan Cancer Support and Southend Hospital Breast Cancer Unit. Participants are encouraged to wear pink attire in honor of Kirste. By accepting a race number, participants confirm their understanding and agreement to the event's Terms/Conditions/FAQs, which can be found on the event's website. Personal information may be published as part of the race results, including name, club affiliation, race times, occupation, and age category. The minimum age requirement to enter the event is 15 years old, while there is no age limit for the 1 mile fun run. Limited car parking is available at the Woods car-park, and participants are requested to park sensibly and with due care on surrounding streets once the car park is full. Public transportation options are recommended. For any questions or inquiries, participants can contact the organizer through the event's website. Refunds will not be issued in the event of cancellation, delay, or postponement due to circumstances beyond the organizer's control. Entries and race numbers are not transferable, except at the Race Director's discretion and within one week of the race date. On-the-day registration is possible if the event has not sold out. First aid cover will be provided, and there are porta loos/urinals available at the start/finish area. While the course is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs, it is suitable for walkers and Nordic walking. Participants are advised against wearing headphones for their own safety and enjoyment. Running with dogs is not permitted according to UKA Rules. Participants acknowledge their personal responsibility for monitoring their physical condition and agree to participate in the event for recreational and/or charity fundraising purposes only. The event organizer disclaims liability for any loss of profit, business interruption, or other loss of business opportunity.
