Start the morning with an optional May Crowning Ceremony and then do some guided birding on the CEC trails! Celebrate the month of Mary with an optional May Crowning Ceremony with Fr. Will Arnold at 9am. At 9:30am, learn all about how to identify birds during this migratory season and help us build our bird list on the CEC property. Learn all about our amazing nocturnal creatures and see live owls and other creatures up close and personal. Wanakia Wildlife will be bringing their educational animals which are sure to amaze! After the program, join us on a twilight owl prowl hike around the property to call for several species of owl, while encountering Wisconsin wildlife! After the owl prowl, stay for the Bonfire which includes roasting smores. We are proud to partner with Wanakia Wildlife Rehabilitation for this Spring's Live Owl Program and Owl Prowl. Learn how to survive in the wilderness with limited resources. Spend the day learning how to make shelters out of raw materials, build a fire, make rope cordage from plants, orienteer, learn basic wilderness first aid and more! You'll even cook some food over your newly made fire. All activities will be done in a safe manner. This program is open for anyone 9-15 years old This program runs from 9:30am-2:30pm Completion of Wilderness Survival Level 1 allows for enrollment in Level 2 . If you are signed up to take Level 1 this summer, you can sign up for Level 2 for a later date this same summer. **Important Notes: All participants should bring a reusable water bottle and lunch. Early Bird pricing available through March 31st. Refunds not available within two weeks of the camp date. Join us with your little ones as we explore the wonders of the world around us! The morning will consist of meeting some of our critters, story time, outdoor exploration, and other hands-on activities! This program is designed for 2-4 year olds with their caregiver. Tuesday, June 10th: Busy as a Bee Learn about the busy life of bees! Examine them on the move in our observation hive, look for pollinators on a hike through the butterfly garden, use your imagination and flex your fine motor skills through a hands-on nectar gathering activity, and enjoy story time! All the while we will learn about kindness and the sweetness that it can bring to others! **Important Notes: Your first ticket is for you and 1 child. If you have more children in the age group, please purchase an additional ticket for each child. To ensure we have enough supplies, please purchase additonal tickets for any older siblings who would like to be active participants. Children less than 2 years old are free. Program meets in St. Francis Hall, located in the main Wayne and Donna Neu Building, and runs from 10:00-11:30am. Participants are welcome to stay after group time and play or eat lunch. Want to learn the basics of how to maneuver in a canoe? Want to have a fun time on the water? Well, do both in this brand new Intro to Canoeing Workshop! Learn the fundamentals of how to paddle forward, backwards, turn, and even flip a canoe at our very own pond. Receive guided instruction and put it into practice through a series of fun challenges and games! This course is required for anyone ages 10-12 who wishes to attend our River Expedition without an adult, but is open to all, ages 8 and up. Life jackets will be worn at all times when on the water, and participants must be able to swim to sign up for the class . Please come wearing swim gear / clothes and shoes that can get wet. All minors are required to have a liability waiver signed by a parent or guardian. **Notes: Discounted "Early Bird" registration available through March 31st. Online registration only.
