Join the BEAVER TRAINING workshop on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 14.00 to 15.30 at The Engine Room, The Exchange, Penzance. This exciting half-term workshop is designed for children aged 6 to 11 who are eager to learn about art and the environment. Led by Maya Ronchetti, an accomplished artist and teaching assistant, this workshop will explore the fascinating world of beavers and their impact on the environment.
Did you know that beavers are often referred to as nature's ecosystem engineers? Through drawing, sculpting, and play, children will have the opportunity to become beavers for an afternoon and discover how these creatures influence their surroundings. All materials will be provided, but it is recommended that children wear old clothes as things may get messy!
Maya Ronchetti, who was an artist in residence at Cabilla Cornwall in 2022, has a deep understanding of the importance of creativity in children's lives. Cabilla Cornwall, an upland hill farm on Bodmin Moor, is home to over 100 acres of nationally rare temperate rainforest habitat. The reintroduction of beavers on their site is a vital part of Cabilla's rewilding strategy and their affiliation with the Rewilding Britain Network.
Don't miss out on this unique opportunity for your child to explore the wonders of art and nature. Tickets for the workshop are priced at £8 and can be purchased in advance. Remember, the workshop will take place at The Engine Room, The Exchange, Princes St, Penzance, TR18 2NL.
