2023 MCBH Norwegian Foot March | Nu‘upia Pond

The 2023 MCBH Norwegian Foot March is an event open to active duty uniformed personnel. It has a rich history, dating back to 1915 when it was first held as a test of marching endurance for soldiers in the Norwegian Military. The goal was to enable troops to efficiently be combat ready even after the march by carrying their rucksack and weaponry of 11 kg. Over the years, the event has evolved and now aims to stimulate the general interest in marching over extended distances amongst military and civilian personnel. Participants will take on a 30km/18.6mile march with a rucksack weighing at least 25lbs. Exceeding 30lbs is not recommended. The attire for the march is the approved military uniform, including military grade boots. Participants who qualify will be presented with a certificate of qualification level (bronze, silver, gold). It is recommended for all participants to have a headlamp and a glow belt wrapped around their pack. Spots for the event will be limited to 250 participants, with a waitlist available.
