This highly anticipated event will take place on January 13th at the Jasper Civic Center in Jasper, Alabama. We are thrilled to announce that our special guest speaker for the evening will be none other than football legend Trent Richardson. The 2023 Wal-Win Football Awards Ceremony will be a night to remember as we honor the outstanding players and coaches in our area. This event will feature the presentation of four major awards: Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Coach of the Year. Additionally, a special "Making a Difference" Award will be given to recognize individuals who have had a positive impact on the community through their involvement in football. Trent Richardson, a former University of Alabama standout, will share his insights and experiences with the audience. Richardson's impressive career includes leading his team to the SEC Championship in 2009 and the BCS National Championship in 2009 and 2011. As a college player, he was named a unanimous All-American, SEC Offensive Player of the Year in 2011, and received the esteemed Doak Walker Award. After his college success, Richardson was selected as the 3rd overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and played for the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts. He has also made a mark in the Canadian Football League and the Alliance of American Football, where he led the league with 12 total touchdowns.
