This winter, experience Cartier's elegance and glamour at NGV. The exhibition will showcase nearly 400 exquisite pieces of jewelry, gemstones, and ornaments, tracing Cartier's enduring legacy in art, design, and craftsmanship. The exhibition tells the story of Cartier's rise to prominence, from its early 20th-century creations to its contemporary masterpieces, featuring pieces commissioned, owned, and worn by royalty and Hollywood stars. Design drawings, sketches, and photographs from the Cartier archives reveal the creative process behind the pieces, offering a glimpse into its exceptional craftsmanship. This exhibition is a collaborative effort between the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) and the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) in London, presented in partnership with Cartier. As an exclusive exhibition in Melbourne, the Cartier exhibits not only bring together loaned pieces from important collections around the world but also include a selection of masterpieces from the Cartier Collection. The exhibition design was a collaborative effort between NGV, Studio Sabine Marcelis, and CLOUD, three multidisciplinary design firms based in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The NGV has partnered with the British Museum to present Pharaoh, a landmark exhibition that celebrates three thousand years of ancient Egyptian art and culture. Through more than 500 objects, including monumental sculpture, architecture, temple statuary, exquisite jewellery, papyri, coffins and a rich array of funerary objects, the exhibition unpacks the phenomenon of pharaoh, those all-powerful kings claiming a divine origin.

REKOSPECTIVE is an immersive exhibition that charts the bold and dynamic practice of renowned Kamilaroi artist, Reko Rennie. The exhibition resists a conventional chronological sequence, allowing audiences to freely navigate the intersection between culture, politics and identity from a contemporary First Nations perspective. Rennie's distinctive style, which blends iconography from his Kamilaroi heritage with contemporary media, explores the complexities of his Aboriginal identity and Melbourne upbringing. REKOSPECTIVE unveils new works from Rennie, presented alongside pieces that have garnered the artist international acclaim over the last two decades. REKOSPECTIVE showcases Rennie's unique style and offers an important perspective in dialogues surrounding cultural and social visibility.

Looking fifty years into the future, Reimagining Birrarung: Design Concepts for 2070 presents a series of provocations for the lands and waters of the Birrarung (Yarra River). Focusing on ecological regeneration, public access and connectivity across the catchment, this exhibition asks what it means to acknowledge a river as a living and integrated natural entity.
