Join the Yate Community Bike Hub for an enlightening and engaging 2-hour introduction to gears with the expert mechanic, Stuart. This FREE intermediate-level bike maintenance course will take place at the Yate Community Bike Hub, conveniently located at 12 South Walk, Yate Shopping Centre (opposite Home Bargains), in the welcoming city of Yate. The course will be held on Tuesday, 18th April, and will focus on essential topics such as lateral and radial trueness, centering, spoke tension, and the use of a truing stand. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own bikes, as the session is interactive and hands-on. Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to enhance your bike maintenance skills! Places are limited, so early booking is essential to secure your spot. This course is open to individuals aged 12 and above, provided they are accompanied by an adult. No extensive experience is required, making it accessible to all. Thanks to generous grant funding from South Gloucestershire Council, this course is offered free of charge. We kindly ask participants to consider making a suggested donation of £5 to the Hub on the night, so that we may continue to offer valuable courses and events.

We are delighted to welcome them back to Yate Library with Dragonbird Song. Each visit features an exciting new adventure . Explore vivid worlds through gentle theatrical play and song for families with children aged five and under. Dragonbird sessions are all about engaging with immersive stories through theatrical sets, props and characters. But above all, the sessions are a relaxed and inclusive place for little ones to play, imagine and sing together. What audiences say about Dragonbird: Absolutely superb. Creative, energetic, hilarious, bonkers fun. I highly recommend that all children have this experience. The kids absolutely love going to Dragonbird. The egg and Travelling Light present Snow Mouse Join Snow Mouse on an enchanting adventure and discover the magic of Christmas again. Winter has arrived and the woods are covered in white. A child hurries to put on their winter clothes so they can run outside and play in a sparkly new world. Just when they are starting to feel a bit lonely they find a sleeping mouse buried under the soft white flakes. Sliding, tumbling and laughing, they explore the winter wonderland together and keep each other safe and warm from the winter freeze. Come and join the two new friends on their adventures in a magical forest full of play, puppetry and music. This delightful show has already wowed audiences across the country with sold out runs in London and Bath. This is what our audiences in Yate said about the show: Perfect for toddlers. If you have attended one of our previous training courses, we are pleased to be able to offer you a FREE basic bike maintenance practice session at the Yate Community Bike Hub, (12 South Walk, Yate Shopping Centre - opposite Home Bargains) on Tuesday 30th January 2024. Example topics include: - essential roadworthiness checks (M Check) - how to remove a wheel and repair a puncture - lubrication, how, where and why You can bring your own bike to work on, or practice on our bikes. Bikes can be dirty or oily, so bring some clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and gloves are useful if you have any. Hand washing facilities are available The session is interactive and participants are encouraged to suggest topics the would like to cover. Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. No experience necessary.
