Led by industry experts, People on Bicycles, participants will gain valuable knowledge on maintaining their bikes for safe and enjoyable rides. Topics covered include boosting confidence, bike maintenance essentials, and basic issue troubleshooting. Ensure to bring your own bicycle to actively engage in the workshop. Led by industry experts, People on Bicycles, these complimentary sessions cater to all age groups. Participants can expect to refine their biking techniques, adopt safe riding practices, and boost confidence while exploring various biking essentials. An enriching 6km social ride around the suburb under the guidance of an instructor will also be part of the workshop. To secure your spot, head to Flinders Park Community Hall on Broadbeach Boulevard, Hillarys, WA 6025, on May 26, 2024, where the event will take place. The workshop is free of charge and open to individuals who can complete a 6km bike journey independently or with parental supervision for younger riders. Ensure you bring water and wear closed-toe shoes. If needed, helmets and bikes can be borrowed upon request. Kindly note that attendees must be proficient in bike riding (excluding training wheels). For novices, a separate learn-to-ride session is recommended. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a guardian throughout the workshop, while those aged 12 and above require guardian consent at the event commencement. 📣 IRB Requalification 2024 - Reminder for Members! Attention Sorrento Surf Club members! The IRB requalifications will be held on the following dates: • Saturday 7th December, 1:00 pm at Pinaroo Point Hillarys. ⏳ Please allow 3-4 hours for the requalification. We’ll need to set up boats and transport them, so please arrive at Sorrento at least 1 hour before the start time to help. Setting up and packing away the boats is part of the requalification, so everyone will need to assist to complete the process. We’ve made a few changes this season, and an open requalification session will be held for all clubs at different locations. 💻 Important: New content for both IRB driver and IRB crew requalification is available in the SLS Powercraft e-learning section on the members’ portal. You’ll also find the updated IRB training manual with new videos on the techniques and renamed parts. (Note: The e-learning isn’t compulsory, but it will help on the day!)
