NOTE: Students are required to go to the MakeIt Labs wiki and print out the ShopBot Order of Operation and ShopBot Certification and bring them to class. The Shopbot CNC router is a fantastic machine that can carve and cut with extreme precision using its computer-controlled robotic router carriage. It can cut out furniture parts, carve designs, and much more. The Shopbot needs a particular form of input to instruct the router head where to go and what tools and materials are being used. The software that MakeIt Labs uses is called VCarve. it tells the Shopbot exactly what to do to make each project. Programming VCarve is not that difficult, but users must know about tools, feed rates, clearance, toolpaths, and more. Students in this class will have three hours of classroom instruction with plenty of time to follow along on their own laptops. The instruction will include a PowerPoint presentation integrated with a live demonstration of VCarve and the use of the VCarve online manual. Students will be shown everything they need to begin working on VCarve designs from A lphabet to Z -Axis. The second part after the break for lunch (bring your own) will be a lab session where students will complete four simple assignments to show that they have mastered the basics of the VCarve design software. Instructor assistance will be available, and students will be allowed to correct any mistakes in their work before moving on to the next assignment. It is anticipated that the lab portion will last about three hours, but students who have mastered the software and principles of VCarve may finish earlier. Students who complete this class may participate in the third session, where the hands-on portion of the class will be taught. It will be held immediately after the VCarve lab session. Students are encouraged to bring a laptop (Windows only, sorry to say) to follow along with the instructor and complete the assignments. There may be a loaner available to those who are laptop-less, but this is not guaranteed. Anyone who needs a laptop should contact the instructor in advance. A gaming concierge walks you through several games over the course of the night. You play classics you love and discover brand new games you've never heard of, playing each with a different group of fun singles. Join Southern NH NEMBA for our weekly Tuesday Novice Group Ride at Mine Falls Park ! While the route for this ride is generally tailored for novice riders, all are welcome! Meet us at 25 Stadium Drive in Nashua at 6 :00 PM for an exciting ride. There are only three things required for for this novice ride, a bike that is capable of riding on hard packed dirt, a helmet (no exceptions), and a desire to have a great time. Welcome to Michelle's Trivia Night Fundraiser! Come join us for a night of fun and friendly competition at Spyglass Brewing Company . Gather your friends, form a team, and get ready to show off your trivia skills while supporting a great cause! In addition to the trivia game we will have a 50/50 raffle and some really great raffle items. 100% of all the money raised from this event go towards the Neuroblastoma department of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in NYC. This is the hospital where Michelle's cousin participated in a clinical trial in 2007 during his battle of Stage IV Neuroblastoma. Shortly after his time there Michelle quite her job with an advertising firm and got an entry level position at MSK where she worked for 8 years before moving to NH. Now she is running the NYC marathon in an attempt to raise $10,000 so that other children, like Nathan, can have a chance at a beautiful life. Plenty of on site parking. Food and drinks available for purchase. Spyglass has a full menu so come hungry. Dogs are not allowed inside. Event will be in their loft space.
