SAAA Athletics Registration is now open for the Ventura, CA (Seaside) Highland Games. This registration is exclusively for SAAA Highland Games athletes who are looking to participate in the event. For general admission to the festival, please visit the Seaside Highland Games website for more information. Early registration is available for SAAA members starting at noon on Friday, August 18th. New members can register for $80, while existing members can register for $50. If you are a current member, please reach out to saaamorrison@hotmail.com for a discount code. The registration fee includes entrance to the games and a 12-month SAAA membership from the date of ticket purchase. This membership grants you access to early registration and discounts for all SAAA events throughout the year. Join AmpSurf, RAPID, and Adventures Without Limits (AWL) at the beach in Seaside, Oregon on July 20th for a transformative Learn to Surf Clinic. This clinic is specifically designed for individuals with disabilities, veterans, and first responders. We invite all individuals with disabilities or lifelong conditions to participate in this empowering event. Volunteers are also needed to ensure the success of this clinic. The mission of AmpSurf is to promote, inspire, educate, and rehabilitate individuals with disabilities and their families through adaptive surfing and other outdoor activities. By focusing on abilities rather than disabilities, AmpSurf aims to create a supportive and empowering environment. For participants, the clinic will begin at 8:00 a.m. with registration and suiting up. Dry land instruction will follow from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. Participants will then have the opportunity to experience in-water surf instruction from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Lunch will be provided, and the clinic will conclude with tear down. Participants are encouraged to contact AmpSurf in advance to ensure accommodations can be made for their specific disabilities. Please bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, picture ID, snacks, and water. AmpSurf will provide surfboards, wetsuits, rash guards, and a beach wheelchair if needed. There is a $25 registration fee to reserve a spot at the clinic. However, if you are a veteran or first responder and cannot afford this fee, AmpSurf offers grants to attend.
