Come to Unconditional Love in Cleckheaton where you will have an opportunity to create a completely unique fused glass wreath in a fruit or floral style (or even mix the two styles!) A variety of glass items will be available for you to create a beautiful wreath measuring 9cm in diameter. The workshop will be lead by an experienced fused glass artist, who will take the piece away to fused after the session and add a matching ribbon. Claire Myers an experienced glass fuser will guide you through the process of selecting colourful glass pieces including frit (crushed glass) and stringers (glass rods) and arranging them in an interesting way. The workshop is £35 per person and is 1.5 hours long. This includes all materials and refreshments and no previous experience is needed plus no cutting or grinding of the glass is involved! You will create one piece measuring 10x10cm. A wooden stand to display your beautiful fused glass piece is also included. EPIKS is offering the district its next batch of free e-bike test rides led by our experienced cycle instructor. Each hour-long session will meet at the Whitcliffe Road entrance to Cleckheaton library car park (what3words ///bucked.dips.stray). We’ll start with a helmet fitting (helmets and hi-vis vest provided by us). There will then be brief 'show-and-tell' and a quick spin in our secure orientation area to familiarise you with the bike (and make sure you're happy with riding). The instructor will then lead your group of up to four cyclists on a short cycle ride around the area to get a feel of the benefits that e-bikes can bring in hilly North Kirklees. Please book to reserve your free e-bike test ride. Check in will be at the start of your session at the EPIKS stand. At check-in, we will require a driving licence photocard or passport as security. Our insurance allows us to offer test rides to anyone over 18. Join us whether you are regular cyclist who wants to compare the e-bike experience, someone who hasn’t cycled in years or someone who finds their health or the hills are too high a barrier to cycling. WWR Batley and Spen Valley is working to make it simpler, safer and more accessible for everyone in the district to choose walking, wheeling and riding as part of their everyday journeys. We want to help more people choose active travel more often for their local journeys.
