The 2023 AZMARRS State Championships is an event where the top 8 rated competitors will compete for the State Belt. In order to qualify for this event, competitors must be rated in the top 8 on the AZMARRS 2023 ratings. Black Belts must also have participated in a minimum of 2 AZMARRS tournaments during the year. To find out if you are in the top 8, simply go to any division and count down 8 people. If you are one of the first 8 names or if you tie with the 8th person, you qualify for the top 8. Competitors who are rated in the top 8 in just one event are eligible to compete in all events. The order of competition is based on the competitors' ratings, with the highest rated sparers receiving a bye if there is one. In the Weapons and Forms divisions, competitors compete from lowest to highest points. The Grand Champion event only has one place in each division, which is the State Champ. Winners in each division will receive an embroidered belt with their name on it. Join AZMARRS in 2023 and you can become a State Champ. Make sure to review the rules for each division, including the sparring UTK rules and the requirements for full uniform.
