Thank you for joining us for our upcoming Disability Inclusion Training. We are looking forward to having you join us. What will I get from the Disability Inclusion Training? Disability Inclusion Training is designed to increase confidence, competence, and knowledge to deliver fun and inclusive activities for all abilities and needs. The workshop explores both disability-focused delivery and being inclusive of disabled people within your existing sport sessions. What will I learn? Disability Inclusion Training covers: The importance of disability inclusivity through a sport and physical activity lens Barriers and challenges for disabled people in accessing traditionally provided sport and physical activity Introduction to various disabilities, impairment groups and long-term health conditions – including physical disabilities; learning disabilities and difficulties; visual impairments; hearing impairments and other non-visible disabilities Practical skills, tools and ideas to adapt and develop inclusive practice in your own environment What can I expect? This Disability Inclusion Training will be run in person and will include: Information sharing from tutors - utilising a powerpoint presentation Open questions to the group - questions will be asked to the group, and you will be invited to share when and how you feel comfortable (this might include writing answers down, sharing to the room, or choosing not to share) Discussion with peers - this will include small group discussions, and we ask participants to get involved in discussions as they feel comfortable. Do you love flowers but wish you could display them better? Join me for a relaxing morning learning a simple floristry technique that guarantees a professional looking bouquet. You don’t need any previous experience with flowers, you’ll learn through both demonstration and hands-on practise in small groups of fewer than 10 people. I also show you an easy way to gift wrap your flowers, turning them into a delightful present to receive. Just bring yourself as we provide all the equipment you’ll need. And you’ll be using the best British grown flowers and foliage the season has to offer either picked from my own allotment or bought from a local flower farmer. You’ll certainly be taking home a beautiful seasonal flower arrangement I’m sure you’ll be proud of. Starts Thursday 12th June 6pm - 8pm 5 week course £130 A mixed ability class that is suitable for beginner sewers who have basic machine sewing skills. Total beginners must complete our Let's Get Sewing level 1 workshop or have a1:1 sewing machine lesson before signing up to this course. Learn to make a garment to fit we have a great selection of suitable patterns. But we are happy for you to choose an alternative please pop into Flo-Jo Fabrics to discuss. You will learn how to read a pattern, measure yourself, adjust a pattern to fit your body shape and then cut lay out and cut your fabric. Whilst sewing your garment together you will have the choice to learn how to fit a facing or binding, sew darts, set in fitted sleeves, put in a zip, finish off and hem. All with the expert guidance of Sabina who will fill you with confidence and have you smiling all the way! You will need to purchase your fabric, the pattern of your choice and any sundries that you might need such as threads and zips. A DISCOUNT OF 10% IS OFFERED ON YOUR PATTERN AND ALL MATERIALS FOR THE COURSE. On the first week you will need your pattern, fabric and a set of pins. Sewing machines, dressmaking scissors and any other tools needed are provided in the workshop. The course is taught by Sabina, who has a wealth of sewing experience that she is ready to share.
