For all levels of experience! Explore the fascinating world of Birds of Prey. We are welcoming adults in Essex for a chance to explore and learn about our country's incredible bird of prey species. The session will include a presentation and a walk by an experienced presenter with firsthand falconry and public-speaking experience on birds of prey.  This event is suitable for anyone over the age of 16 and for all levels of experience (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult). Please dress appropriately for the weather. Please bring your binoculars if you have them.      FAQs 📍Where do we meet?  Meet in the visitor centre. 🥾What should we wear?  Most of our events are fully outdoors, and you need to come dressed for the weather.  We recommend layers (top and bottom), which can get mucky.  Wellies (with thick socks) and waterproofs are a good shout if you have them.  🌍Where are you based?  We are located in Mid-Essex, local to Chelmsford, Ingatestone, Billericay, Wickford, S.W Ferrers, and Basildon. 🚗Is there parking?  Yes. We have a large free car park. 🚇Can we get to you on public transport?  We are accessible by bus, with bus stops outside the centre and 10 minutes away. Join Daniel Bridge for a 1 day workshop designed to help you get the most from your camera. Are you baffled by ISO, aperture, P.A.S and M? All these and more are covered during the morning session, with a slideshow and discussion guiding you through the main controls common to all cameras.  After a lunch break, we go out on the reserve to put our new found knowledge to good use, trying out our controls an the camera and seeing the differences we can make to our photos.  As long as you can switch the camera on, everything else will be covered on the day.  If you do know some basics though, don't worry there'll be plenty more here for you to learn. What you need to bring: A camera! This is mainly aimed at digital cameras of all types, but even if you use film, you will fain extra knowledge about your camera.  A tripod if you have one.  Don't worry if you don't.  Memory Cards/Spare Batteries.  We'll be trying many different techniques and it would be a shame to feel limited by the number of exposures you could take, so make sure there's plenty of space on the memory cards.  Ensure any batteries are fully charged!  Any lenses/accessories you may have,  You never know when you might need them.  Footwear and clothing suitable for a walk in the reserve.  Including wet weather gear(hopefully not required).  Lunch, this is not provided in the cost of the day - there is a Cafe on site so please remember to bring money or something with you to eat.  Information Source: Essex Wildlife Trust | eventbrite

Pick your time slot, arrive for the start time, and follow the signs up towards Mr Toad and his pond. Spend time discovering the weird and wonderful creatures that can be found in your own back garden pond! Please come suitably dressed, children must be accompanied by an adult. This event is recommended for ages 5 and above. Advance booking is essential. Please arrive at Otter's Pond for your allocated slot. To find us, go through our visitor centre and take the first right as you exit the building. Continue on this path until you see Mr Otter near our picnic benches, and you will find us there. Offworld Outpost are excited to announce a 2,000 point Warhammer Age of Sigmar Tournament! General information: This will be a 3 round, 2,000 point tournament, with an initial cap of 28 players and a registration fee of £25. All players are required to purchase a ticket prior to Saturday June 14th 2025, there will not be tickets available on the day. The latest full Age of Sigmar 4.0 rules will be in effect, please have access to your army rules, along with 2 copies of your list in hard copy (printed or written) . 1 copy to submit during player registration and 1 copy to share with your opponent each round. There will be in-store £ credit prizes for the top-ranking generals (1st, 2nd 3rd), best painted & top faction generals. A dedicated Tournament Organiser / Judge (TO) will be on hand to officiate any game issues or rules queries that may arise during the event. The TO’s decision in all matters is final.
