Experience the thriving and ecstatic dance community in Wales at the monthly Sunday morning sessions of Ecstatic Dance. This unique event welcomes people of all tribes, including children and families, to come together and dance for community nourishment and celebration. The intention behind these morning sessions is to create a transformational daytime dance space in Swansea, where every generation can feel safe and express themselves on the conscious dance floor. Ecstatic Dance is a free form movement practice that takes dancers on a journey of inner discovery, joy, and freedom. With no rules, just some core guidelines, participants can dance barefoot, without words, and without substance. The dance is fueled by the pure energy supply of each individual, creating a self-led and expansive space. The morning begins with a sharing circle and a short guided warm-up, followed by individual expression as a Live DJ takes participants on a beautifully crafted journey through a worldly and eclectic DJ set. The session ends with softness, stillness, and integration back into a closing circle. After the dance, indulge in delicious warming drinks and home-baked snacks at the chai bar. Families with children can take advantage of the dedicated creative kids space, where fairies offer supervisory support. However, parents and caregivers are responsible for ensuring their child's supervision, comfort, and respect for the space and fellow dancers. Tickets for the event are available for £15, with donations welcome for children under 12. Low-income tickets are also available, including for those under 18. Please contact us for more information. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds, but booking is essential for both adults and children to prepare the kids space for a beautiful morning of creative expression. Join Jaz, the creatrix of Gŵyr Soul, and Jen, the founder of Wild Roots, as they facilitate these uplifting and transformative sessions. Jaz has been running ecstatic dances in beautiful nature settings in Gower, while Jen has a deep affinity with the healing powers of the moving body. Together, they are committed to creating a safe and compassionate container for the dance journey. This is the first of our monthly Wheels & Waves: Cars and Coffee Club gatherings. The objective of this event is for like minded petrol heads to meet up and talk all things cars whilst sipping on the fine coffee The Lighthouse has to offer.
