Start your eng... err we mean PAWS! IT'S THE FURRY 5K! Calling all runners, walkers, and animal lovers!! Welcome to the 16th annual Cedar Bend Humane Society Furry 5K Run/Walk! Join us for a PAWsome morning on Saturday, May 17th, 2025! This community fun run/walk event is open to all animal lovers and their K-9 companions. Get ready to stride around the scenic Big Woods Lake with your furry friends for an adventure they won't forget! Plus, don't forget to swing by the sponsor booths for many fun-filled activities. In celebration of our 16th annual event, we hope to bring lots of fun and excitement! Don't miss out! Bring your dog! Just a few rules to keep things safe and sound: no retractable leashes, keep it to six feet max, no female dogs in heat, and leash those furry companions at all times. Also make sure they're up to date on their vaccinations. Don't have a dog? That's okay. If they are available, some of CBHS’s adoptable cuties will be there to cheer you on in the meet-and-greet area! Iowa Trails Summit - October 9th The Iowa Trails Summit brings together trail builders, supporters, volunteers, advocates and enthusiasts from across Iowa and beyond to delve into trail development topics ranging from corridor acquisition, engineering and enhancements, to funding, maintenance and marketing. Iowa Bike Summit - October 10th The Iowa Bike Summit is a gathering of bicycle enthusiasts, advocates, and professionals from across the state of Iowa. It provides a platform for discussion and collaboration on a variety of topics related to bicycling, including infrastructure, policy, technology, and tourism.
