The Mercer Association of Women Law Students (AWLS) is proud to present the 7th Annual Lauren Giddings 5K, a charity event held in honor and memory of Lauren Giddings, a former Mercer Law student. This yearly 5K run/walk is organized by AWLS to commemorate Lauren's life and her love for running. Lauren was a dedicated AWLS member and a passionate advocate for giving back, particularly through her involvement in the Public Defender Clinic during her time at Mercer Law. She was known for her commitment to her studies and her active participation in the community. The proceeds from this event will support scholarships for our most dedicated and academically accomplished graduating members of Mercer AWLS, helping them cover the expenses associated with preparing for the bar exam. The 7th Annual Lauren Giddings 5K welcomes participants of all ages and from all locations. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female participants overall, as well as the first-place male and female finishers in specific age groups. In case of inclement weather, a rain-out date will be determined and the event will still take place at Amerson River Park, AGL Playground in Macon. For those joining us from out of town, we recommend staying at Hotel Forty Five, 1842 Inn, Springhill Suites Macon, or Hilton Garden Inn Macon.
