Exhibitions
The 9th Brussels Photo Festival opened on January 23, 2025. This year's festival will feature a total of 46 exhibitions and events, with hundreds of artists presenting in galleries, art centers, institutions, private or public spaces. Highlights include, but are not limited to: the group exhibition "AImagine: Photography and generative images" held at Hanger, which re-examines the image of artificial intelligence in photography through 18 photography projects and proposes the possibility of re-imagining historical events and figures; Stieglitz 19 focuses on photographer Anders Petersen and his fragments of life in Naples. His avant-garde, strongly cropped black and white photos do not try to understand the chaos of the city, but tell the true face of the city, full of personality and atmosphere; in Galerie Eric Mouchet, European audiences can enjoy Eikoh Hosoe's masterpiece "The Rose", a series of works dedicated by the artist to novelist Yukio Mishima. Born in 1933, Eikoh Hosoe is the godfather of Japanese photography. His works are famous for exploring themes such as death, the human body, desire, and irrationality, and he has always been interested in the dialogue between Eastern and Western cultures.
