In this exciting collaboration, you will join Mark, Edinburgh Sketcher, as he shares the techniques he has developed over a decade of sketching around Edinburgh. He will highlight details of architecture and nature to ignite your creativity into fabulous sketches you can take home. Each class will touch on perspectives, depth and composition as you go through 10 minute exercises to relax your hand to 30 minute vistas whilst immersing yourself in the beauty and historic environment of Kellie Castle. The 3 hour sessions are £45 per person including light refreshments after the session. All materials needed for the day are provided. Perfect for all levels from beginners to those who would like to learn more about about Mark's speed-sketching style, or to practice sketching outdoors with ink and watercolour. Children aged 8 and above are welcome to although children aged 8 - 15 must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult. This is a walking and sketching tour so do check the forecast and come dressed for the Scottish weather! An indoor option will be available should the weather be particularly bad. You will be able to explore his home and muse, the Castle itself, and see first hand how the architecture, light & atmosphere of the property inspired so many of his great pieces. Learn about his life, creative procress and inspiration in a 1 hour guided tour, including visiting the studio where we created many of his incredible pieces, which is usually closed to the public. Perfect for art enthusiasts & history lovers. Please note this tour involves climbing flights of turnpike staircases to move around the Castle. Join Martin, our master of the metaphysical, to explore Kellie Castle after dark. As the veil thins between realms, take a moment to explore all the possibilities and the darker times of history this castle has witnessed. The earliest parts of the Castle have stood since 1360, with many dark tales of previous residents and mysterious occurances bewildering staff, volunteers and visitors. Keep your eyes peeled for anything unexplainable. Accessibility This tour will involve ascending and descending tight turnpike stair cases and may not be accessible for people with mobility issues. Wrap up warm in your best 'guises & prepare for all weathers. Watch out for evil spirits that may be lurking and bring your best tumshie to light your way.
