L’École du soir Cinéma #3 is an event taking place in Dundee at the Cooper Gallery. This event, inspired by Ousmane Sembène’s concept of cinema as a "night school" or l’école du soir, aims to provide a platform for collective study. Over four evenings, the gallery will be transformed into a temporary cinema, showcasing moving image works by The Otolith Group. The highlight of the event is the screening of In the Year of the Quiet Sun, a 33-minute and 57-second HD video. This thought-provoking film explores the decrease in solar surface temperature that occurs every eleven years and the first scientific expedition to study the sun. The screening will be followed by an artist response and an opportunity to view the exhibition. Doors open at 5.45pm and close at 8pm.
