Edinburgh Science Festival | Edinburgh
Celebration
Founded in 1989, the Edinburgh Science Festival was the world's first of its kind. Today, it remains the UK's largest science festival, held annually for two weeks around the Easter holidays, offering a vibrant array of experiences for people of all ages, including exhibitions, events, workshops, performances, screenings, and discussions among the world's leading scientists.
The festival's annual events are held throughout the city, including galleries, museums, public spaces, and more. The diverse and engaging program is interspersed with serious and thought-provoking scientific debates, covering topics such as quantum physics, environmental ethics, and everything in between!
Children (and adults) will love the interactive exhibits and workshops, where they can learn about science, including spaceships, weather, dinosaurs, the human body, and more. Trained science educators will amaze them with fascinating demonstrations. Meanwhile, adults can look forward to a range of exciting evenings, including discussions, debates, performances, food and drinks, and hands-on activities—plus numerous opportunities for interaction with the audience.
