The Edinburgh International Book Festival, founded in 1983, is held annually in August in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. Recital inspired by Timothy Schmalz’s sculpture depicting Jesus as a homeless person. This recital is inspired by the recent installation outside the Cathedral of Homeless Jesus, a bronze sculpture by Timothy Schmalz depicting Jesus as a homeless person, sleeping on a park bench. Among other works, the programme will include the acclaimed composition ‘Jesus' Blood Never Failed Me Yet’, a 1971 composition by Gavin Bryars based on a loop of an unknown homeless man singing a brief improvised stanza.
