As you walk along the wooded trails, Joseph will share the inspiration behind his spiritually-inspired sculptures that are nestled throughout the campus. With over four decades of experience, Joseph has created more pieces in Alnoba's extensive art collection than any other artist. Discover his ancient, hands-on technique of using hammer and chisel to transform massive blocks of stone into captivating works of art. Joseph's Native American background, being part Abenaki, plays a significant role in his art as it connects him with the earth and nature. Experience the spiritual journey that Joseph embarks on with each sculpture as he allows his ancestors to guide him in carving ancestors and spirit animals. This two-hour tour offers the opportunity to ask questions, share thoughts, and be inspired by the captivating stories behind each artwork. Please note that space is limited to 15 people, and advanced reservations are required. Dress appropriately for the outdoors, and be prepared for an easy-paced walk with breaks. Snowshoes are welcome when there is snow on the ground, and limited pairs are available to borrow. All proceeds from this event go towards supporting Kensington's Sawyer Park, a beautifully-maintained space where families gather to enjoy the outdoors.
