The FLUX RC Epic Ride is an exhilarating cycling event that kicks off the season with a bang. Taking place from Berlin to Hamburg in a single day, this group ride promises an unforgettable experience. Participants will cover a challenging distance of just over 300km at a sporty yet group-friendly pace. If you're up for spending 10-11 hours in the saddle, occasionally battling headwinds and leading the pack, then this is the ride for you and your trusty steed. A support vehicle will meet the group at the 173km mark in Vietze/Höhbeck, providing a lunch break and transporting any necessary gear to the finish line at Hamburg's Wilhelmsburger Deich. Along the way, there will be stops for refilling water bottles in Rhinow (86km), Havelberg (111km), and Scharnebeck (252km). Participants are responsible for their own provisions, except for a pasta dinner provided at the 173km stop. The ride concludes at Wilhelmsburger Deich, offering a stunning view of Hamburg. From there, participants are free to make their way back to Hamburg Hauptbahnhof and begin their journey home. The ICE train departs hourly from Hamburg, and bicycles are permitted on board. For those who may tire along the route, various options are available for returning to Berlin via regional transportation. The ride will generally take place on the road with two rows of riders, taking turns leading the pack. While a brisk pace is planned, adjustments will be made to accommodate group preferences, wind conditions, and other factors. Regardless of the weather, the ride will commence as scheduled.
