"Tempestuous Elements" is a compelling play that delves into the extraordinary life of Anna Julia Cooper, a trailblazing educator and feminist who overcame the odds to become the fourth African American woman to earn a doctoral degree. Set in Washington, D.C., the play sheds light on Cooper's challenging role as Principal of M Street High School, where she valiantly fought against racism and sexism to uphold Black education. The event, hosted by CPSS Nupes, will take place on March 2, 2024, at the Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater in Washington.
