Join Curated Conversations at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art for an evening celebrating the latest works of renowned authors Sasha LaPointe and Tayi Tibble. This exclusive event in partnership with Eagle Harbor Books will feature a reading and audience Q&A session moderated by island writer B.L. Crook. LaPointe, recipient of the 2023 Pacific Northwest Book Award for her memoir "Red Paint," will share excerpts from her new collection of essays, "Thunder Song." These essays delve into indigenous identity, challenge stereotypes, and tackle cultural displacement and environmental issues with a punk sensibility. Meanwhile, Tayi Tibble, a Maori poet hailed as one of the most remarkable poets of her generation, will present her latest poetry book, "Rangikura." Both authors explore themes of cultural identity, generational trauma, and the healing power of art, community, and nature. Don't miss the book-signing session following the event at BIMA Bistro.
